You should go ahead and do some 11psi/14psi/17psi runs tomorrow!! Do it before something bad happens!!!

As for sound most all changes are due to the turbine housing (it acts as a muffler of sorts). There are big sound changes just from modifying housings, let alone changing them out altogether.

As an N55 guy, that boost curve makes me sad. Smashing work gents.

I'm sure you do, but I'm guessing none of them are seeing over 10:1 compression.

Plus, once you're able to actually control the WG with the Proceed the boost curve should look a little better on the bottom end.

From the video though, I would say this car could still benefit from a gearing change, at least to 3.4 or maybe even a little higher. That would certainly help with the bottom end build to 3500 rpms. All the new pony cars will be running at least a 3.4, and I believe the ZL1 will be supporting a 3.7.

I suspect this has a bit to do with not needing to breathe through those crummy flat inlet pipes anymore.

Below 3000rpm, however, there is no comparison between twins and this turbo. If you are used to that low end grunt, a big single is going to be disappointing. But above 3000rpm, the engine feels and sounds much more effortless and smoother with the single that I think many people will be happy to change their driving habits.

Yes, the turbo is mounted high enough to avoid having to use an oil pump. So needless to say, no check valve either. We are using a simple gravity drain

They've had control over the WGs for quite some time, since rev 2 release I think? Rattle fix is a good example of a recent implementation.

I beleive the single uses a haltech boost control solenoid in conjunction though. They probably bypassed the stock solenoids and use this to control the single wastegate?

they've had full control over WGs on teh stock or upgraded twins. shiv hasn't fully gained control of the single wastegate yet though, see below

single turbo

We have a couple customers that has full bolt-on with PWM meth kit. If our single turbo were to show up we will do some run to show people the comparative differences between our big single to a full potential stock turbos.

this is awesome stuff Shiv, spinning in 3rd gear w an LSD is the sign of some power. I almost lost my M3 yesterday in 4th........scary! Then again i'm running on borrowed bald 245s.

the boost you are running should indicate power being well into the 500whp range. Keep it up!! Can't wait to see where the n54 goes to in 2012. Also slightly rooting for you to bend a rod or something . POWA!!!

That would be great. Make sure to do a run against another MT for a fair comparison if possible.

I was thinking the same thing. If he shifted any harder, he would throw the knob into the back seat Shiv, do you have a SSK?
