Your best bet is Beyern or VMR. Both can be had for under a K if you are looking for 18s.

+1 on Beyern. I bought a set a while back. They are a tidbit too heavy in my opinion, but for the price they are unbeatable.

Apex are light and just a bit over 1k for a set of 18.

Agree with above poster, if you have ruined the stock wheels you are going to want to stay far away from cheap 19" wheels. To put it in perspective I have had two 335s, and been through 3 sets of wheels:
1. VMR, every single one was bent to hell all on the inside lip. No lip damage, just deformation from soft wheels.
2. Miro, same thing as above.
3. Alufelgen. These are holding up much better. I had to replace two due to a decent sized pot hole on the interstate and I've only had them for 6 months.

I would stick to strong, 18" wheels if I were in your shoes...Apex makes great wheels and if I ever do it over again that's the way I'm going. I have HAD IT with bent wheels and pinched tires. We just don't have enough sidewall when going with 19s to offer adequate protection.

189's bend/crack easily, especially with RFT's.
I'd go with Beyern if you're worried about strength too.

Unfortunately, that isn't a lot to play with.
There are a lot of wheels available when you go higher though.

There will be nothing nice about a wheel that is under 1k, nothing.

That's BS right there.. I actually have 2 sets Beyern 18 mesh rims, one for the winter and one for the summer. The winter ones are just curb rashed and scuffed up a bit but neither set is cracked or bent. Meanwhile my buddy has a sent of BBS rims and two of them got bent from everyday driving. Mind you we both drive in the same general area. So yes you can get a nice set of rims for under $1k.

TSWs can also be had for that and Nurburgrings look hot. I have $4K worth of rims on my 300zx tt and $1K TSWs on my 335 and to be honest I wish I hadn't spent that much on my 300 wheels. Forged wheels yield little benefit to your average car enthusiast that's primarily after looks.

The TireRack MT-1 is strong and extremely lightweight. They really can't be beat.
