Steve, do you think it`ll live up to all the hype ? Looks as agressive as hell but its a lot of money for a Nissan and seems almost un-modifiable (at the moment).

If it was available right now, I`d probably feel different but 18 mths is a long time to wait and then the V-spec wont be far behind it.

It has the same power to weight ratio as my `vert, now if only I could get it to drive straight instead of sideways.

(don`t take the above the wrong way Steve, I`m just genuinely intrigued)

I have no intention of modyfying Mike.

It does 0-60 in 3.5 (ive seen 3.3 in a test also) its faster than a gt3 around a track faster than a Z06 0-100-0, its defo enough for me, or for anyone

Regarding the Vspec itll be too brutle for the road, this will be 98% road car 2% track car. Ive too many commitments to track more often.

and dont take this the wrong way, the M3, supercharger or not isnt even in the same league even though i love the sound of the m3 motor as much as anycar

Steve - that is one hellava car!! I want one sooooo much

Have you paid your 3k deposit now then? I spoke to my finance guy the other week, and he was advised by Nissan that at that time (about 3 wks ago) there was no official list - buyers were simply paying the 3k to the dealer to get onto that particular dealers waiting list. Nissan apparantly had not allocated stock to any particular dealers so still no guarantees as to who gets a car or not?

has all this changed now?

If so I need to do some decisive decision making!

Of course its not Steve.............I can still drop the roof, carry 2 passengers in the back and still have 90-95% of the performance (granted you`ll be a sec quicker to 60 and probably near 2 secs to 100) but if your not going to track it, how often are you going to drive like that on the road.

Don`t get me wrong Steve, I think its a great car but I just don`t get it at nearly £60K.

Steve,

Great car and colour mate and dont worry that it is a Nissan, with all the reviews and limited numbers I doubt depreciation will be a factor.

Horses for courses, though "init". If you want four seats, you want four seats - simple as.

Wouldn't surprise me if Steve could sell his slot for a little profile in over a years time.

Your right Cafe, like I said the hype around this car is crazy but it also wouldn`t surprise me if Nissan but some kind of block on that.

There are all kinds of stories flying around about this car but I guess we`ll have to wait and see.

3.5k is needed. The dealer lists are all full, they (10 gtr dealerships) have all invested a lot of money and have been allocated 40 cars each. I was number 8 on the list. But apparently only 3 others and myself out of 40 want the satnav so i wont actually get my car at number 8 but will be one of the first to have a UK car with satnav.

Ive been told that on the 2nd april all orders will be put online, mine will go on 8th and A) everyone with a fully paid dippa WILL DEFO get a car in 2009.and B) nissan will email me with a delivery date/slot within 72 hours

Mike whether the car is a Nissan or not its simply astounding and i want one, ill be using the 0-60 performance alot in a safe manner of course, i will track it ill defo go to the ring etc.

Mike about the 60k its actually 57800 and for that its a bargain. I truly believe it is pond for pound the best car on the planet period.

if it had a german badge EVERYONE would be going nuts about it and it would be 130k.

it does have 4 seats but granted only big enough fro toddlers. That ok because my sons 2 and my little girl will be born in 8 weeks and if we need big people to join us then ill use the ML

what an amazing car!

I'd have one in a heartbeat, but knowing my luck I'd pick it up when Doris and Albert are driving away in their new 2009 Micra, that would take the joy away for me sorry if I sound like a badge snob but at the end of the day WTF does it matter! give me one now!!!!!

Steve, awesome, simply awesome car. Well done for picking what is, IMHO, by far and away the best colour too. That car will be the total nuts when it comes and WILL be worth the wait. Different league even from from the C63!

You rekon? the gt-r wasnt that much quicker than a 911 turbo around track.

The GT2 is a homologation special. 0-100MPH In 7.4 seconds. Faster on any quickish A/ B Roads.

Would like to see the GT2 compared to the GT-R around a track!

Ah, dunno. Would love to see GT2 vs GTR though too

I just think that although the figures say one thing, that a GTR would be eminently more driveable on normal roads in normal conditions, and don't forget what you're getting for half the price of the Porsche So even if the GTR gets close then it's job done IMHO for less than £60K.

Don't get me wrong, I'm the original 911 freak; totally blinkered and would normally choose one over much more 'impressive' machinery. It's just I've never really 'got' the GT2 since the 993 variant.

Is the weather crap today in Essex too mate?
