Review/Installation of ModMy3's E92 Carbon Fiber M-Style Lip for M3 Replica Bumper
Part Info
PM: Sales@modmy3.com http://www.modmy3.com/bmw-e92/bmw-e9...ca-bumper.html -------------- Before After I thought the front of my M3 Rep Bumper was already aggressive until I saw an M3 with a lip, I was unsure of what it was so I scoured the net but then came to the fact that the lips made are for actual M3 bumpers and not my M3 Replica bumper. Being that I purchased my M3 Rep Bumper from Modmy3 I decided to ask, low and behold he said that he was in the process of having one made for the e92 verison of the M3 Rep Bumper. I was very pleased with it, shipped promptly to me via UPS.. I was always skeptical about CF because I didn't it to be to dry, and I didn't want it to stand out too much.. Wanted that perfect weave not to fine not to big... But ModMy3 Nailed it with the right shade, and gloss and CF weave.. I love it I have Black Rims, but currently Im waiting for new tires, so I have my winter set-up on.. Its gonna look way better when i put them back on.. All I need now are some CF Mirror Covers.... Modmy3? Installation is pretty straight forward but for those that need instruction as I always do for everything.. Step 1: Test fit the lip by holding it up against the bumper Step 2: Make Note of the area and clean and dry that area give it a few minutes to dry you will be using 3M tape. Step 3: Make note of the areas that make contact with the bumper and put 3M tape on it Step 4: I Bought a roll from Autozone ($11), and got carried away put 3m Tape Everywhere.. Step 5: Peel the backing of the 3M tape only where you will be attaching the lip to the bumper, I started at the corner and worked my way over. Step 6: Once you satisfied with placement press the lip to the bumper Step 7: (Do this at your own risk) I took some jacks put a cloth between the metal part of the jack and placed it under the lip and slowly jacked up the lips onto the bumper in different parts one at each corner and one in the middle essentially pressing and holding the lip to the bumper. You any method you prefer place some boxes under there or something.. Step 8: Get 4 nuts & bolts 3/4" long and secure the lip to the bumper 2 on each side (I haven't done this yet so the pics dont show it) But over time you never know.. Rather no lose my lip. Step 9: Enjoy Here are some pics. Last edited by Shane23; 04-19-2012 at 08:36 AM.. |

Looks amazing, Shane!! Congrats on getting yours before we SOLD OUT!! We will have more ready to go in about 5-6 weeks.
I'll PM you about the mirror caps. We don't carry CF caps, but there's a fabulous local vendor here who may be able to help us out with that. |

as for your mirror caps, search ebay for autotechnik or autoteknic... forgot the exact spelling. they're the same exact replacement mirror caps that some jerky vendor is selling here for around $350. i got mine for $145 shipped. just send the seller an offer. |
