Are There Any Lawsuits Against Bridgestone ???
I was washing my car yesterday when I noticed yet ANOTHER bulge in my Front drivers side tire. I REFUSE to pay for another tire for this car. I am it's only driver and have run over NOTHING severe or even close.
Tires are: Bridgestone Potenza REO50A RFT 225/40ZR18 & 255/35ZR18 Let me make a few thing clear: I have replaced FOUR tires on this car since it's delivery on 2/15/08 the car has 9000 miles on it. (The first was a ridge across the ENTIRE road which I could not avoid) I drive on pins and needles and try to avoid ANYTHING that looks like a potential problem. This is my SECOND BMW with run flat sports. The first one went TWO years without ANY tires needing to be replaced. The shop foreman replaced the last one for FREE because he felt badly for me. Please BELIEVE me when I say that I pamper this car. I simply CANNOT keep paying $300 to replace these tires. Has ANYONE heard of an admitted defect or had luck collecting from Bridgestone ? What about Lawsuits? Are the Michelin PS 27P Pilot Sport Any Better ? This is a lease and I am NOT changing rims. Other than this GREAT car. Thanks, Joseph

If you hate them that much, QUIT BUYING THEM! I know you are only buying one at a time, but still, why keep buying them when the third tire needs it.
I also see that your location says "NYC." Every post I've read on here from someone from NYC says the roads are total shit there. I've driven the roads around NYC (company HQ in White Plains, I fly into JFK) and I agree, they suck. So it is almost impossible to drive carefully when the road bed looks like a Baghdad highway. And I'm sorry, but bulges just don't appear when "driving on pins and needles." I've got 13,000 miles on my Potenza's, and I've hit a few hard edges and potholes that were unavoidable. I don't have any bulges or bubbles. Nothing. Zip, zero, nada, zilch. This doesn't mean I'm a fan of the RFTs, but I am saying that people aren't as careful as they claim to be with regards to road hazards. Sounds like you have 4 good RFTs at the moment. Take them off, sell them here in the For Sale section and buy some non-RFTs to replace. Or, if you must have RFTs, try the Michelin's. But I think the problem is more the condition of your roads and less about the tire.

I went through 3 tires in 4 months. There are terrible. What can be done with Bridgestone. That company should refund the money spent on these horseshit RFT.
I went and put Vredersteins on my ride. Love them! Super Sticky and quiet. |

man I feel your pain. I replaced one then the other front wheel gets a bubble and I consider myself an expert pothole and bump avoider. I drive in NYC and Boston so potholes dont get any worse then here esp in the winters.
If there is a lawsuit for these shit wheels or petition Ill sign on in a minute...wait a second minute is too long.. |

I hit a pothole at 800 miles and bulged a tire. Went to Discount Tire and got a replacement. Then I put roadhazard replacement on that tire, and the rest of the other tires. With the low milage, Discount Tire said no problem with the additional 3 tires. Now I have full replacement coverage and my thought process is "bring on the bubbles", as then I just get new tires....

yea those run flats suck.....replaced 2 on my car with 4 thousand miles...thankfully i bought that insurance policy which covered me.
Put on m6 reps with the non RFT bridgestones and havent had an issue....its the fact that these damn run flats have such stiff side walls that when they hit a pothole there is no give and the sidewall breaks. |
