Now will be interesting to see if I can wait until Saturday for the installation.

For those that have installed them what tools do you need? Are there any specialist things or is it as simple as a few screw drivers & sockets.

Out of curiosity, did they send it by mail? Did you have to pay any customs/duty costs?

UPS; duty and taxes were $231.50.

Thanks WOPALX. Not as bad as I thought. I do hate all the charges though. If it was sent registered mail it would probably get in tax free!

Dyno guy ain't available until next week (same people you used).

So plan is to install in the morning and get the car used to the box over the w/e. Early next week I'll dyno with the unit then load the standard map (I bought a cheap laptop for the purpose) and dyno it again.

Not ideal but I don't have the patience to wait.

My install went okay;

one issue with the grounding wire (not long enough + suggested spot is on the opposite side of Aus cars) suggest using the strut tower.

lost one of the sliding ECU cover locks, it fell underneath the ECU box. Need to pull it all apart on the w/e to retrieve it.

Otherwise the install was flawless, and what was termed a beast from my salesperson is now something completely untamed.

Excellent.

I found the same thing with the earth wire Wopalx. I used the nut at the suspension strut too and then later extended the earth wire to allow me to “hide” it.

Did it take you long to install? I know I took my time because it is quite daunting with so my wires and fiddly steps involved.

It seems the PROcede is only getting faster with time. I now have trouble keeping traction in both 1st and 2nd gears.

I may have to look at a LSD one day.

I’ll check it out when you are next in the carwash.

I will need to look at where you hid the earth wire, strut sucks as it's very obvious. I did try the screw that holds the brace for the filters, threw a bucket load of codes so obviously was not a good choice. It was then I moved it to the strut.

Took about 45mins to install which was not too bad, I'm a bit pissed that I lost one of the ECU box locks so will need to dismantle it on Sunday and find the thing, it's right under the box so it will take a while

.

Took it for a proper spin tonight around the Mosman rat run, very happy. Then backed it up with a run along the same route in my fathers new CL500, must say 1/3rd the price and 10x the performance

I have a laptop now to do the map loading so if you want I can bring it next time I visit the wash if you want to load a different map.

I’m still using the same strut bolt, I just angled it differently with the extra length to make it less visible.

Crossing my fingers I find it as I think it seals the box. If I don't then I will have to try and find out the part number and get someone to order one from BMW.

Wopalx - let me know when you are getting the dyno done and I'll do mine too. That way we can all get an idea on what Australian PROcede'd cars are getting at the rear wheels. This will also allow us to confirm if Daniel's result is the Oz standard.

No problem, hoping for next week.

I plan on having mine done twice, once with the PROceed on and the other with the PROceed plugs in, so I can see the difference.

If you like we can reload your map then as I should be damn fast in pulling the covers off by then.

Took some pics during the pull down but am using my Mrs windows pc so don't know how to resize them to enable me to upload them, will do so when I get to work on Monday.

Did work out that trying to remove the ECU box so I I can retrieve the lost sliding clip (which fell under the ecu box when I was installing the PROceed) is going to be a major PITA. So I figure i will call some people I know to try and get them to order a new slider fromn BMW.

A panel beater will be perfect as they would have reason to potentially remove the cover during a 'major' repair. So if anyone knows one or a person that works in a BMW service department that might be suitably bribed please let me know, happy to pay a reasonable price to lubricate the supply of the required bit. I will get the part number from the remaining clip tomorrow, I kind of started on a nice bottle of Pinot during the pull down so decided to leave puting it back together until the morning.
