Other people in the UK have done a lot more with these cars than we've touched, and I haven't heard any reports, really, so I'm just gonna keep pushing on. My car is due for smog, and once that's done, I think I'm gonna get the DPF removed to get that extra HP that we lose from the UK cars.

We have the same transmission at the Bentley Continental GTC - Look up the hp and torque numbers. There are things that will break before the transmission will.

Thanks Ronin, lots of wires there. Any chance you can open up your JBD box so we can see what is connected where?

Take a look at post #37 in this thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...6#post13125026

This guy is from Ecotune, and as he notes, they have many, many hours with DPF removal. He might be able to address questions you have.

Ron1n,
Where is the meth tank located in the last pic? I can't tell. Can you post abetted shot? Thanks.

They did some dyno testing using a 50/50 mix and a CM10 nozzle which is fairly safe for the street. Gains were around 20whp over the JBD alone. This particular car was only able to run around 80% on the JBD this time around without tripping a fuel pressure code. Overall I understand the car feels a lot faster on the street and for the minimal effort involved BMS thinks the kit may interest a few hard core 335D guys. The kit price is $479 including the controller and all required parts.

Mike
Mike, can you post a direct link to the meth product on the BMS website? Thanks.

It's a WW kit, which means you use your windshield washer fluid tank for it, and yes, meth is safe for your windshield. :P Windshield washer fluid actually has methanol in it.

Don't think the kit is up yet, btw.

Most of the wires are for the pump itself. There's only 1 wire that goes directly to the JBD that I can see.

Is it a soldered connection?

^Based on the pic, it looks like it would have to be as the connection was inside the box. Otherwise, you would think they would just tap the wire outside & heat shrink.

Do you know when the kit will be available? Also, how long does the washer fluid resivoir last before refilling is needed? (If you don't use it to wash the windows)

You need to solder a wire to the JBD and there is also a JBD firmware update. You can mail the JBD in for those ahead of time and they can ship it back with the WW kit. The kit is $479 and ready to ship.

I think I understand the principles and purpose of meth injection, but I would like to know more about how the kit works with the JBD, and the performance results - not just power claims, but the impact of exhaust temps, etc..

Mike, would it be possible to relay some of the details to us from BT?

Agreed, some before and after data logs would be nice to better demonstrate the benefits of the BMS kit as it relatest to lowering EGT's. TDwyse did some logging using the kit he bought (not a BMS kit) and by the looks of things it really helped to lower EGT's.

My biggest objection or obstical at this point (while under warranty) is removing the kit and swapping out the charge pipe before dealer visits - not to mention it would require buying a charge pipe (not sure how difficult it is to swap out).

I know BMS isn't planning on spending much more time with it. But nothing is stopping you from installing the kit and collecting all the data you'd like. The WW kit is easy to install and remove though. Just wait until you are out of warranty and can tap the OEM chargepipe as that is the only cost effective solution.

Mike, do I just need to ship my JBD to BMS and put a note with it that I'm ordering the WW kit for the D? Also, which charge pipe would we need for the D?
