After you have read up on how to remove your interior trim located here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...=interior+trim and have read Soni's DIY on how to apply the CF Fabric here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...=interior+trim you'll feel ready to tackle your own cf fabric project.

A number of people have started this project but have run into problems with stretching, overlapping, and wrinkles around the corners. The main objective of this DIY is to describe exactly how to turn a sub-par corner wrap into a perfect corner.

Essentially we will be going from here:

Let's begin:
After you have sprayed your adhesive and attached your fabric, you should have something like this.



Now, take your razor blade and make your first incision 1/2" away from the edge of the trim.



Continue this incision all the way around.





Oops! As you carefully fold the corners you may end up with something that looks like this. Obviously, this looks horrible and will look even worse once the trim is installed.



Now, make your incisions exactly as follows.



This should alleviate the tension in the fabric and allow you to achieve a much better fit when tucked in.



This process takes some time to perfect and it's much better to go slowly and get it right the first time than to have to start over.

And your advice about taking time and getting it right - really really worth listening to. I think quite few people skip this bit and are eager to finish. your trim looks OEM right there on last shot (nice wells lights too!).

you just need to spray enough to get the fabric wrap.

Yep, I sprayed about two quick coats on the backside to get it to wrap.

Well I decided to do my wrapping through the new years night and man it wasn't no easy task to be honest. But I still recommend those who is still NOT SURE to DIY this or to have the vendors doing this, DO IT YOURSELF!!!! It does NOT worth your money to spend $350+ for them to do it when you can produce the same result yourself in the end. Wrapping itself is not the hardest part, but removing all the trim pieces properly. It was my first time doing this and took me ~6 hours to wrap all pieces (I know it's nuts but I like to finish what I started, plus I got watch the reply of Chick-fil-A Bowl and watched LSU kicked Georgia Tech's ass. ).

Fabric from Jo@ED. Quality is great guys.



I used 3M super 74 instead of 77.



Result:



(I later smoothed out the wrinkles toward the bottom of the picture, it's not that hard to fix)
