Can dogs get colds?
My beautiful little baby seems to be sneezing every where the past 24 hours. Runn nose etc.
I grew up with labs and never experienced them sneezing like she has even the past day? Is it plausible that she could have a cold?

Yeah for sure they can. Sounds very much like that's what your dog has.

Just found it odd that you had to question if a dog can have a cold or not! lol
but in seriousness, as I said it could be hayfever! I've been suffering with it the past few weeks and so too could the dog be, you can get dog antihistamines but a human antihistamine will do it no harm and may do some good for it and give you an idea if that's what it is or not. Has it got runny eyes too?

I've had dogs a long time, Spose it's obvious considering they can get coughs. Just never had a dog experience it before.

ditto on dog hayfever, is quote common
also, if they chase bees/wasps they end up getting stung on the nose which can cause a reaction too

Could be Kennel Cough (not that serious)
Mine have been vaccinated against it, but its very contagious, and they still got it last year - albeit a milder version. Is she retching/gagging at all? In contact with other dogs? |

my GSD had hayfever sneezing and water always coming out of his eyes I took him to the vets and she gave me some tablets to give him. She also said that as the GSD hair is quite long they recommend some special kind of shampoo which helps with hayfever and other stuff so when I bath him I use the shampoo that she gave me, he has been fine ever since.
