Will No One Install Catless DP's In Roanoke VA Area??? UPDATED!!! DP's Installed!! ?

UPDATED DP's Installed!! 02/24

I cant be alone here in the Roanoke Valley of VA!! I've seen a few bimmers running around but have yet to meet anyone..

Most of the work Im trying to tackle myself however, the down pipes seem a bit daunting to say the least.....

All the local shops are scared to play and the only one willing to throw them on have never installed a set on a BMW before

Since you have an I there's a very good DIY. There's a good one for an xi as well. Be blessed you don't have to remove the subframe like some of us.

I have done all my work on my car, but have you tried Delta V Motorsports? Also there is a location specific section of this forum where you would get more input.

Yeah, be happy that you have an i. The work is cake compared to the 335XI. Removing the subframe is a huge pain in the ass and took me forever to get them out and the new ones in. It is nice working on your own car though and thank God for the DIY's.

I graduated from Roanoke College last year. I had my AW LCI E90 335i down there for a while, rarely saw any modded bimmers besides my other roommates 335's. Can't give you any recommendations, we did most of our work ourselves...

Good to see someone from Roanoke! I'm from there, though the Navy now has me in GA. Best of luck with the DPs!

Looks like there's quite a few guys on here from the Star city lol we need to do a meet or something. OP there are no shops with experience that officially will do DPs, however I will PM some info on one place that will do them on the side...

I appreciate it however, Bimmerworld and Motorwerkes are the only two places within a 2hr drive...

Bimmerworld shot me down because its not a "Race" build..

PM returned.

When it warms up there are meets every Saturday night at Old Blockbuster on Williamson RD.

Bimmerworld is one of the best BMW shops in the world. However, like you said, they will only do racecars. I understand where they're coming from, if they're caught removing cats from a street car they will face a shop fine, a personal fine and (potential)loss of business license.

Even though it took me pretty much all day, I managed to get the DP's successfully installed.. I also installed the AFE Pro5-r DCI w/ scoops simultaneously (during moments of frustration with DP's)..

Today, i tackled the JB4 w/ G5 board and set it to map5 as well as the gauge sweep option..

Took the car out for about 20 minutes and all was well.. No check engine lights, funky symptoms, nothing!!

As you all probably already know, the car feels completely different and from my understanding, it will continue to program itself over the next few days with a few more WOT runs and adapt appropriately..

In the end, my weekend is now over however, im extremely satisfied.. Keep an eye out as im going to throw together a little build thread as i took a 1000000 pictures as i went!!

Next weekend i will throw on the ER chargepipe (long), BMS oil catch can, Piano Black kidney grills and the carbon CSL lip w/ modified Carbon splitters for the m-sport bumper..

I am grateful for these forums because although there is a lot of BS on here, there is also a lot to be learned.. The DIY section saved my ass, twice over!! Couldn't have done it without you guys..

Stay Tuned!!!
