What's missing from this picture?
The above is the nearside of the engine-bay of my 58 E90 330i Auto. The two white things are threaded studs and there is clearly supposed to be something bolted onto them. What am I missing? Some environmental nonsense for countries with inadequate gallons? Some option I don't have, like a compressor for steering-wheel refrigarent. Or has something critical fallen off? Any info/wild-speculation gratefully received. |

That's the power steering reservoir bracket. Guess you've got electric PAS!

Exactly that! Why BMW didn't dispense with the bracket on cars with electric steering is one of life's mysteries...

Thanks. I expect electric power steering is good. At least it will be until the Health and Safety Nazis mandate rubber driving gloves. I imagine Germany ebay will sell them.
