Do you have info on the size of the boxes for each wheel?

How much would your little pallet weigh?

Cheers James.
Boxes are 54 x 54 x 25cm (h) each
Pallet, really cannot say yet, but base it on a standard euro pallet - 800 (w) x 1200mm (l) 8ish kg

Well, I had a mini brainwave. As the wheels are all being delivered to James_335i's warehouse then why don't we attempt to setup a GB on tires to be delivered to this same warehouse. That way Camskill (or whoever) can just do 1 big delivery rather than lots of individual ones, there must be some cost savings for them there. We are all either collecting our wheels or having them delivered on a pallet from this warehouse, so it would be no difference to us, we would still get our wheels and tyres.

My assumptions are:

1) that the pallet delivery service would be ok having our tyres strapped to the top of the pallet

2) James_335i would be happy receiving the tyres and strapping them to our pallets

3) we can get is sorted and tyres delivered before our wheels arrive.

4) We Deffo need to sort James_335i out with some sort of reward for all his organisational arrangments

For me they would have to be seriously cheap, when you consider a third party will charge £10 a tyre top fit and balance.

www.camskill.co.uk are seriously cheap compared to just going into said 3rd party and having a tyre supplied and fitted by them. Even with camskill delivering the tyre to you and then you paying someone to fit the tyre you still get a better deal than going through the 3rd party to supply and fit the tyre.

Unless you fit budget tyres that the 3rd party stocks in bucket loads. For more specialist tyres, sourcing your own does seem to be cheaper.

Initially would be looking at Falken 452:
Front: http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.p...=m55b0s24p6228
Rear: http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.p...m55b0s341p6234

Or VREDESTEIN ULTRAC SESSANTA:
Front: http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.p...m55b0s24p12450
Rear: http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.p...55b0s341p12459

I'm sure people could specify their own makes of preference aswell.

Who'd be interested?

What mileage did you get out of them?

I had them on my 130i and got about 14k out the rears and 20k on the fronts.

They are still on my 335 and have only done 5k, but I want to leave them on and get a fresh set for the new rims.

I think I'm only just going to get the wheels in my car let alone the tyres, so unless we'll save a lot I don't think it's worth it for me

Ok

I know the majority are getting their tyres from camskill but I can't seem to find a tyre fitter by me(West Mids) who will fit customer supplied tyres. Does any one know where I can get them done in the midlands?

Use Event Tyres - they'll come to you. I've used them many times and have been very impressed.

+1 - used them a few times and are excellent with good prices to boot. Even got em to price match once also.

If not try and independent - they will fit your own tyres and are often more careful with your rims than the big high street outfits.

I am lucky in having a part-worn tyre company in the unit to me next door. The owner is a car nut, owns an Aston and does loads of high performance tyres so knows how to treat your alloys properly.

If you don't mind a trip to Stafford, he does em for £40 a set inc all balanced, etc...
