I got that code that eventually went away on Friday...Should I be concerned....it indicated cold start over retardation. I google the topic already and have some knowledge of what it is. However I could not find answers to mu question, whether I should be concerned if it went away and drives fine.

Hey, i got the same code. My car went to limp mode then i restarted the car and it went away for a few day and then It came back.. I only have 47k on my car its a 09. I changed my vanos solenoid at home took my litterally 10 mintues. I hope this solved the Problem..
You can try to clean the solenoids but most of the time it comes back after a while. I just choose to replace it Last edited by tm6030; 07-20-2014 at 07:02 PM.. |

Dang $365 sounds pricey... My extended warranty better covers that if I it comes back again and I have to replace mine |

The car is perfect after changing both of them and no codes again. Dont even bother cleaning the solenoids cause it comes back for most people. Just replace them. I also did notice a smoother idle after changing them.
