I got that code that eventually went away on Friday...Should I be concerned....it indicated cold start over retardation. I google the topic already and have some knowledge of what it is. However I could not find answers to mu question, whether I should be concerned if it went away and drives fine.

I'm think your vanos bolts are starting to come apart.. remove you oil cap and inspect.. if it only happened once i wouldn't worry for now..

Hey, i got the same code. My car went to limp mode then i restarted the car and it went away for a few day and then It came back.. I only have 47k on my car its a 09. I changed my vanos solenoid at home took my litterally 10 mintues. I hope this solved the Problem..

You can try to clean the solenoids but most of the time it comes back after a while. I just choose to replace it

Any updates? I got the same code again that went away after a restart. I am starting to think I cause the code with how I start the car and just speed off sometimes.

The car is perfect after changing both of them and no codes again. Dont even bother cleaning the solenoids cause it comes back for most people. Just replace them. I also did notice a smoother idle after changing them.
