M is a term used for the commercial money supply. M0, M1, M2, M3. It's a Federal Reserve aggregate figure.

M3 is the aggregate of savings accounts and money market accounts, including all CDs. If you knew banking, you'd know this. M3 was no longer published by the Federal Reserve several years ago. Some politicians and Libertarians are pushing to have the Reserve publish M3 again since it's the true reflection of monetary circulation. Without the circulation numbers don't reveal the true reflection of money in the country.

M3 doesn't necessarily always going to mean BMWs..... could be a political comment.

Aside from the above, what on earth would make you think someone in an S-class cares about street racing?

Or they don't care about cars. I'm going out on a limb, but I'm guessing that if stickypaws is right and that is in fact what they mean with L8R M3, they are most likely gonna be the kind of people who spend more time watching their stocks than street racing or taking pleasure drives. They'll buy a car with a good life expectancy and drive it until the engine falls out of the bottom of it. Just as well, it could also be a 16-y-o who thinks he's hot because he drives a Mercedes.

Your own lack of common sense and lack of experience in the real world shows through very well with this closed-minded statement.
Just because someone has money doesn't mean they have to drive the newest top of the line car. While daddy may keep you in the newest ride available, professional adults can have money and drive older cars. I work with 2 physicians, both are quite well off. One drives a '95 5-series, the other has a mid 80's S-class vert. I know other physicians who drive accords and civics. All could afford pretty much any car they want but they are more than happy to drive the older cars they have.

Think harder, Chumlee. Bankers prefer the M3 aggregates aren't published and that's why the Fed stopped. It's certain politicos, and the usual assorted wingnuts that are screaming conspiracy. It also fits with old frugal tight wads driving 10-year old S Classes. You know, the ones with money to protect and big fears it's all going to be taken it away.

But aside from all that, M3 can mean a multitude of things. Who knows WTF it's supposed to mean on an old S Class. And who actually cares?

When your 'new 2011 m3' shows up, go hunt him down and kill him. Teach him a lesson. Sucker won't know what happened to him. Now that's what a M3 is all about. Woo-hoo.

Thread fails, imho.

Buffet apparently drives an older Caddy. Guess he couldn't afford the latest and greatest.

i dont see what the relevance of him getting an M3 and driving his dads ferrari was to the story.
it could have been "i saw this car whilst driving"

but he had to tell me about how he was driving his dads ferrari not once but twice with some back story about his future M

and lol banking and driving a middle class car doesn't mean anything. ignorance? a girl i knows dad drives a gallardo and he didn't graduate high school.

At first, this thread did not live up to its title. However, once the flaming ensued...would read again! Pretty amusing stuff.

My uncle and aunt still live in the same apartment that they bought together in 1955...with the same furniture that they first put in it.

It's weird
