KDCAN, MHD, and ODB2 Issue
Hi all,
I currently have a 07 335i 6AT and I have bought 3 different KDCAN cables, OTG cables, and have had no luck with MHD working with my car. I have tried several ways of connecting the cables to my Samsung Galaxy s7 edge, and it still cannot detect the ECU. The KDCAN lights up orange when connected to my ODB2 port, but once I try to select an option in MHD it turns it off and cannot detect the ECU Any idea what's going on? The 3rd cables is working off another 07 335i and the same phone, thx. |

Did you try one from bimmer software? That's the cable I have and it works with MHD/galaxy tab A 8.0 tablet. Make sure the edge s7 is compatible, though i think it is.
Also make sure you have a good OTG cable. I use this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Hope this helps! Jack |

I just did mine with the cables from bimmer.com and my samsung s7 edge and it worked.
Try this 1 put the key phob in and tap the start button once. 2 connect odb cables and otg in the obd2 port 3 now attach to phone. It was kind of tricky but i wasn't doing correct the first time i tried it. I emaild Mhd and Martial was very very helpful in getting me going. He answered my email pretty quick. Good luck and don't quit just keep trying. |

I had the exact same issue with my S7. After trying four different k-dcan cables and numerous otg adapters I finally got mine to work by these exact steps.. While the car is Off, FIRST connect obd2 cable into the car. Second, put key in and hit start without starting. Third, attach otg and Dcan cable's, then to your phone. Now I have 3 extra cables and adapters for backups.
