No you cannot. The $59 is a completely different spoiler. Same vendor, different product. There are at least 4 threads now talking about this vendor. What other angles would you like? Be happy to take them. But the fit/finish is perfect if that is the concern.

Possible to take a shot from afar? Would like to see how the overall car looks with this spoiler. The $59 dollar one does not make enough of a statement. The performance racing one is a bit too big.

I have been posting in that thread as well. Here is the link to the $59 spoiler. As previously stated it is not the same spoiler. You can say you like one more than the other, but please stop trying to confuse people by saying are the same. They don't even mount in the same location.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=658815 2ndname - sure thing. I'm working from home tomorrow so I'll try to snap a picture from behind at lunch time.

Thank you for finally accepting that it isn't the same spoiler. Here is a link to the spoiler being discussed here. SAME SELLER, DIFFERENT SPOILER : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Painted-BMW-...-/221010004218

Didn't get a chance to do this yesterday, let me know if you want/need any other angles.

My car was a lease. When I got it there was significant acid rain damage. My friend is a professional detailer (and works for Meguiar's) and gave the car two rounds of wetsanding, two rounds of compounding, and two rounds of polishing. Between the abuse of the elements and the steps necessary to repair it, I'm quite certain my paint is the culprit. The $92 price is PRE-PAINTED. Going local would not have accomplished anything else short of me taking the fuel door off and having the color analyzed...but again, even that is off a touch because of the top surfaces of the vehicle being abused.

Based on the glowing reviews I too ordered the OEM trunk spoiler via E-Bay. Ordered late Thursday night May 3rd; and it was delivered 7 days later on Wednesday, May 9th. Delivered via Fed-Ex and even though I have a permanent signature on file it still required a signature, albeit only on the form left in my door - so technically it was re-delivered the next day.
I washed the car; clayed the area where the tape would attach; used the alcohol pad on both the trunk and the spoiler. Tape was not installed on the spoiler; I had to install it myself (no big deal). I am extremely picky and have to say the Deep Sea Blue is an exact match - not even a "Shade off". Dry fit and tape fit were an exact fit. Here are the pics - |

The pics look great. I hope that mine turns out the same. I'll post pics when I have installed the spoiler. Question: You stated "clayed the area where the tape would attach". I never heard this term. What does that exactly mean. Thanks. |

Wow I ordered the lip from this guy before reading this thread, guess I made a good choice. You really can buy good things on eBay guys there's just a certain way to go about doing it. Obviously you should always check the person's feedback, but what some people might not do and is quite useful is to open the "see all" link under their feedback score and this will show you each and every review the vendor has and the item that a person purchased from the vendor. What I do here is I look for people who have purchased the item I am interested in and what feedback they left for that actual item. This strategy works for me every time, including the m aero lip I got last week on eBay.

I had placed some painters (blue) tape on the trunk at the edges of the spoiler during the dry fit so I: 1) Placed the spoiler exactly in the right place when final mounting it with the double-sided tape, and 2) So I knew exactly where the spoiler edge was and therefore where the tape on the spoiler would attach to the trunk. I then used a Clay Bar (see the detailing forum for more specific info) to remove all of the wax and any other foreign substances that might have been on the paint. Then, after using the alcohol wipe, I knew I would have prepared the surface as well as possible for maximum adhesion. I had also put some weight on the spoiler for the first 24 hours and then didn't drive the car for 3 days (it was perfect weather for taking my motorcycle so worked out well) to ensure no problems in the future...well in theory anyway... |

You are correct, the tape takes time to set. The longer it is not subjected to any force the longer it will last. Now you will have me wait a couple of days before I use my car. Oh well...let me take out the skateboard. |

I ordered mine in Titanium Silver. Packaging, shipping and color all excellent. I really recomend this spoiler as far as aftermarket goes. Well worth it.
