Hello I have had this issue since I bought my 335i but other misfire problems took priority!!! When I brake gently I get a click noise its like the brake pad is moving in its housing and when I brake hard it does not do it? The brakes were changed at the stealership!! Sytners in Leicester not long before I got it anyone else had this issue many thanks

i use to have that sound but its gone now for some reason....

My mates MG ZR has this problem - something to do with the caliper not releasing properly, apparently it's nothing to worry too much about

Ok thanks I did see a post about it on hear also they said nothing to worry about it! its just a bit embarrassing when you pull up to friends it sounds a lot worse than it is also it never does it to begin with its only when they have had a bit of use its like it frees it up very strange I read about changing to a diffrent type of pad but mine have loads left ill get wheel off have a look

Is it a click-click-click sound as you slow or just a single click when you press/release brake pedal? Can you hear a click-click-click at low speed (crawling) if you drive with the windows down when not braking?

I dont know if this is the case but very often E46 M3 cars have this and you need to torque more your wheel nuts.

No it's just the 1 click noise if I brake hard it does not do it and its either wheels not necessarily both at same time it's got to be brake pads moving after they have warmed up!!!! Not had chance to get wheels of yet

Sorry maybe warmed up not correct terminology but they only do it after a few miles first drive ofvthe day

If it's both wheels it more or less rules out a loose caliper, unless there's a big coincidence. I'm not familiar with E92 brake components but check all the bits are there when you have the wheel off. Wouldn't be the first time a garage hasn't fitted springs or shims when putting new pads in.

SHIMS sounds about right DTB just to keep that pad in place, on paperwork its says clip brake pads and sensor.. I was gonna take it back to Sytners where work was done when I bought it (from a trader) but realised it was done march 2011 I bought 6 months ago......Actually doesnt BMW parts have a 2 year guarantee could I get this brake issue sorted by them ?????

I've searched for months on here trying to fix this on my car to no avail. 3 mechanics and myself can not figure it out. Replaced pads, added m3 control arms and the noise is still there. I can't reproduce the sound unless the car is moving. Dealership is no help. has anyone fixed this?

Pad movement in caliper is all I can thing of. My r32 did this. So I swapped the pads out cleaned the pad seats up nicely and added sound deadening shims and never came back.
