Fiber Optic Cable under my Center Console?
Car is a 2007 E90 335i Sedan.
Production month: Sept 2006. There is a Fiber Optic Cable under my Center Console? Its not connected to anything. I have working Bluetooth. Working voice command. And iDrive. No CD Changer. My search is telling me that it is a USB cable for USB jack. I don't have a USB jack. Can I simply buy a Aux/USB jack and wola? Update - attached picture of plug.... Or not. Thanks in Advance. Do you have the sound system with Logic 7? If not that why it isn't connected to anything.
The cable is probably installed on every car on the assembly line, but then only the cars that got the Professional headunit and the Logic 7 Amp would have actually used it... kinda like how all our North American cars have all the wiring (and even the bulbs) for the reverse fog lights that are on European cars, but we don't have the button to actually activate them.

You are probably seeing the cable for cell phone connectivity signal. This goes to the shark fin. Has to be connected to cradle in the armrest. (If equipped)

the cd changer you dont have, would have been connected by a fiber optic.
perhaps you are seeing the head unit end of that fiber optic connection, maybe there is one in the back left in the trunk where the cd changer would have been installed. |

But this is under my center console, right in front of hand brake release.

hmm I have no idea then, if it just ends there and there is no slack, then it could be that antenna cable for the shark fin to the phone cradle, it's not a fiber optic though, are you sure it's fiber optic? is it purple/pink connector? or is it green cable

Looks like the cable that plugs into the bottom of the USB/Aux Jack that is located in the center console.

That is not fiber optic. That is an RF cable. It would be connected to the snap in adapter base in your center console (if equipped) to provide a connection to the cellular antenna in your roof fin.

They sell Bluetooth receivers that plug into the aux jack. You can at least stream music from your phone to it wirelessly like that. Sucks though not have having track control from the steering wheel.
