Parts needed for E90 LCI msport conversion?
To start off I want to say I have searched endlessly and still can't figure out the answer. I've actually spent the last 3 days searching on here and google but get mixed results and whatnot. Basically I just ordered an msport front bumper from JGmods which comes with almost everything like fogs, grilles, etc... What I can't seem to figure out is what is needed to install.
The problem is most threads i'm reading are pre-lci to lci msport retrofits and not base lci to msport. I'm also getting many mixed results of people saying all I need is the bumper and others saying you need adaptors for the belly pan, new ducts, new fender liners, etc... Jason@Tischer was kind enough to PM me a list of all parts they include with their kit that I don't have but the price comes out to $240 shipped. I've been reading that most people pay $100 or nothing to do the conversion so i'm a little lost... Basically i'm trying to see if theres any guys who did the conversion on an LCI and what parts they needed. I'll put the list Jason sent below. Thanks in advance for anyone that can help this has really been getting to my head the last few days since I can't seem to figure out a definitive answer. Quote:

Anyone? I really don't want to spend $240 then find out it was unnecessary...

I'm going to subscribe. I want to do this conversion as well. I searched and can't find a M Tech front bumper that has the PDC.

From the kits I have seen from manufacturers and companies that sell them local to us - the kit is designed for guys who have regular sport fronts and want to switch so you don't need the different belly pans and fender liners - it should bolt right up. I could be wrong however this is from what I have seen thus far. You may have to trim your vents a little but regardless no extra parts. If you do trim vents trim from teh rear so the fronts still look perfect since thats what you'll see.

I have an lci mtech on my pre lci. I didn't buy anything. My shop fit it for me. None of the parts are "needed".
Kidney grilles and lower grilles only needed. |

Hmm interesting. I guess best thing for me to do is try fitting it before I want to install it to see if everything works and if not i'll order the other parts

the underbody adapter is needed unless you like the front bumper just flapping in the center, fender liners are not necessary but the ducting will not fit exactly. Ducts are different as well.

Is that for LCI too? Someone told me for pre-lci you need the parts but if you have LCI it's a direct swap?

The ducts don't fit exactly. Maybe 25% of the ducting is covered. Maybe less. I believe the shop cut away at some areas. not exactly sure. The adapter is super cheap. Aside from that. I think you are gtg.

I have done the full OEM conversion. From my perspective, you do want to have the parts that will cost you a couple of hundred extra. This ensures you have an OEM fitment, that the duct work lines up properly and that the front bumper especially is secured properly.
It is not a direct bolt on as the two bumpers use different guide dimensions.

The underside of your car fit with no issues and the fender lines bolted up properly?

I'm about to order the front bumper for my 09 LCI also, I'm glad this thread came about as It answered a few questions, I had. I'm not saying his was done this way, but I know body shops that will fab and make bumpers, aero kits, ect...fit one way or another. JGmods should know exactly whats needed though, when I'm about order I'm gonna shoot a PM.

Ok awesome. So no concerns with yours being a sport 335? I am thinking of having my dealer do the work while on vacation so if parts are needed, they can hopefully just handle.

If you're in San Francisco I can highly recommend a bodyshop for you to save on paint and labor. I'm also going to be doing this next month. |

I didn't install my rear bumper I had the paint shop do it. But the front is very easy, just take your time. So easy a caveman can do it, lol. Dealer is going to rape you!

Hahaha i'm doing the front Saturday. Rear I have to wait for the diffuser to come since it was on backorder but it will be painted and picked up tomorrow along with the front. A buddy and myself are going to try to install the rear ourselves... Haha hopefully it goes smooth
