BMW 328i coupe from auction
Hi, I'm looking to get an 07 bmw 328i coupe from dealer auctions. 70-80km range. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for things to lookout for? Also if anyone has access to dealer auctions and can help me find one it would be greatly appreciated.

I was looking for a sedan since the coupes are out of my price range at the dealerships, but a friend showed me some auction lists and I found the prices to be ridiculously lower so I thought I might look into the coupe. I only have about 25-30k to spend, still very young and in school, was hoping to get a BMW as my first car. However, it seems that auctions may not be the best idea, so I'll look into sedans.

Well I do have 30k ready to put towards a car as I'll definitely be needing one come september, so I thought I might as well get a used BMW.

You'll be throwing your money away by buying a used, high mileage coupe that most likely will not have warranty. The parts and service will cost you big time in the long run and you'll regret your purchase. If you really want to spend your $30k on a car your best bet would be a sedan.

I can't believe some of the responses in this thread...
Dr. G, I wouldn't generally reccomend the dealer auctions, other than the BMW auctions which are open to bmw dealers only. Generally, the good cars get bid on by bmw, and taken to their dealerships.. the second and third tier (accidents, rougher shape, etc.) then go to the Adessa/Manheim auctions, and are picked up by the corner joe kind of lots. Not only are there concerns about warranties, but also the quality of the vehicle you are getting. BMW dealers will deal with you and go to their auctions for you. Tell them what you want, and what you can afford... try a few dealers, and see. This way you'll get a 1st tier, and bmw warranty. G/L |

Dr G, there are some very negative responses here. I bought a 328i sedan in Feb 2010 with 56K km's from BMW financial services before it went to the general auctions. I have a friend who has access to those cars, you can contact him via his website: www.willz.ca
He charges 5% of the sale price of the car. MarkD |
