M3 DCT Wheel on non paddle equipped car?

I have a 328 that never had paddles, and was wondering what the process was for retrofitting an M3 wheel with DCT paddles to the car. Do I need harnesses or extra wiring?

Has to be routed from the steering wheel, through the dashboard, and to where the shifter is. Not sure if splicing is required.

Had the shifters from factory on my old 335i, then upgraded to M3 -/+. Used it like once, wasn't that cool/useful. Not worth the money + effort, but that's just my opinion.

Yeah I found a DIY and it's ridiculous. The reason I ask is because buying a new M3 wheel with DCT paddles is cheaper than an mtech without paddles, lol.

Once you have all the needed parts - the entire swap with wiring only takes about 1-1/2 hr...

No splicing involved if you have either the Burger or MotiveMods harness (of course you can make your own harness if you feel industrious).

If you don't have the specific MFB for paddle shift, you will also either need to get those, or custom wire your paddles to the wheel side slip ring connector as per the DIY.

If you need help installing the steering wheel, I can stop by and do it under 5 minutes (did it twice on the 335i, did it on the X5 last week) for free. All I need is one of those air compressed impact wrench gun things that those tire people use to remove lugs. That center bolt that holds the steering wheel is a bitch. Not gonna help with paddles because I have no clue how that works.

Also, ~$300 shipped is not bad: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E90-E91-...ht_2796wt_1164. Might need the M-Sport trim, but that's optional.

+1 for the motive mods (motivemods) harness. Note that you have to get a new wheel that can accept (or has) the paddles, and new MFL buttons.

I missed the detail about needing new MFL buttons and that set me back a couple weeks and an unexpected hundred bucks.

But once I got it all sorted with the help of motivemods support process, it worked like a charm: no cutting, no splicing, completely reversible, and works like a factory install.
