i took it to a garage last night they have just called to say it is the turbo, just ringing around now to compare prices on where to get it done and which parts to use.
some saying a refurbed turbo will be fine, others saying only use garrett. a chap from darren woods is calling me back shortly hopefully. |

£1450 fully fitted from darren woods inc. vat
now normally id be happy to go for that as its brand new everything and i know there work is bang on. but as im out of work at the minute and cant claim back the vat or anything thats a little more than my pocket will allow so im looking at refurb units. has anyone got experience with a reputable company that sell refurbs? cheers |

I know of a fella that got a recon unit and it lasted a week, the company at the other end suggested it was fitted wrong.
Personally i would go for a new one and stick it in myslef and save on labour. if the recon turbo does go it can cause serious issues. Garrett do not sell recon kits for their VNT units so this speaks volumes to me. As Garrett dont make the kits they probably come from China which is bad news 9 times out of 10 |
