Another "What Wheels?" Thread
Hey guys,
Ive been lurking around here for a while but not done anything major with my car yet. Recent promotion and upcoming birthday mean Im currently looking round for some new wheels though Ive got a Montego Blue E91 and Im unsure if I should stick with standard silver wheels or go for matte black. I was set on some VMR 710 style wheels in gun metal/anthracite like so: But Im now considering some straight spoke wheels after seeing this, also this got me thinking about going for matte black alloys: So basically it boils down to, do I follow the herd and go for some Y-spoke wheels in black or silver, or do I go for something less common like these? We can also throw a spanner in there with the fact I quite like BBS CH reps All of those were just grabbed quickly from an ebay shop as examples, but you get the idea. Also open to other suggestions, budget of around £600 and think I'm decided on 18's for now Cheers for any help/advice |

Yea, its CM Wheels I first saw the VMR style wheels, but he only has them in 19". I'd love that, but as this is a family car I need to try and keep a reasonably comfortable ride.
And unless I've got a weird car, the paint code under the bonnet says montego blue.... I know I've not seen many on the UK forum though! |

Quite like the CH reps....http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/7292/45229121tm2.jpg - considered style 216's? not too dissimilar, http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/6466/fff3f.jpg
Though I like with an E91 I'd look for something with a good concave or dish, always liked the CSL's on an e91 though I would save up to get the 19's Last edited by Dizzle; 10-25-2012 at 09:49 AM.. |

Not a big fan of the Style 216, dont like the twist in the spokes. I do like the concave too, but the standard CSL's are just a bit too common, hence looking at the VMR's instead. I do want 19's and can afford them, its more a comfort thing. For now they wont be too bad on SE suspension and with non rft tyres. But in a month or 2, I'll be lowering it as well and while Im ok with that, the girlfriend and kid might complain haha. |

The whole plan changed horrifically, was dead set on some VMR 710 style wheels then went and ordered these instead...
They're just reps and obviously not on the car yet, first day off work now is Tuesday so should be on then Last edited by DuckySpud; 11-10-2012 at 09:40 AM.. |

Always liked LM reps.
Where did you get them from, first impressions of quality? Looking forward to seeing them on the car. |

Quality wise, they seem fantastic! There were a few greasy marks on them, I assume from having the tires fitted but a quick 10 minute polish and they look spot on, can't fault them Cheers guys, I'll get some photos up in the next few days after fitting. Its still on stock suspension though so will look a bit stupid until I get some Eibach Pro's at the end of the month |

Got the wheels fitted this afternoon, photos are a bit dark and rubbish so I will try and get some more tomorrow. Seriously need to lower it now though, Eibach Pro kit coming at the end of the month hopefully
When I first bought it: And now: Fills out the arches a lot better than stock! Like I said, desperately needs lowering haha |

I'll get daylight photos tomorrow, didn't get them fitted until 5pm today so not had chance yet. Will hopefully get some black spray paint tomorrow to do the front grill too

As I said, should be getting lowered at the end of the month, it does just look ridiculous now haha. Only reason I got wheels first was one of my last tyres got a puncture so it made sense to upgrade now rather than buy a couple of new tyres for only a few months
