Service Records?

Hi All;

Is there a way to get the service records for my E90? I called the dealership who had it before me and they said that, because of privacy laws, they cannot give out that information. They told me however, that if I would get the permission of the previous owner, that would be ok. I then asked the dealership if I could get the name of the previous owner, and again because of privacy laws, they cannot give out that information. LOL.

Ideas ?

Carfax will show what was done by the dealer if reported, not sure of Canadian law but DMV records are public record so maybe you could get the address there and mail the previous owner with a release and ask. Obviously you have their address so privacy at that point is out the window.

Oh Cool... So how would I get these public DMV records? Website? Phone call? Cause the car is a US car, I bought it from a US dealership. The previous owner is american.
