miles to oil change does not count down
I recently paid for an additional oil change 2months ago. It still had 10000 miles to go for an oil change. After the service I remember it still being at 10000miles to go for next oil change, which is normal because they don't reset it.
Recently I installed Procede V3 Canbus. For 2 weeks I noticed that the miles to oilchange has been steady at 16000 miles, even though I drove +500miles. This concerns me because I still get free maintenance, and the dealership won't usually change the oil until the miles to oil change has counted down. has anyone experienced this? Can the Procede V3 cause this? |

lol go drive the twisties and shift at red line for 30 minutes and then tell me if that 16k miles does not change.
and what you've written is kind of confusing as far as mileage. the miles to oil change? are you talking about miles to full service?

I drive 95% highway miles, and even with 4k miles on my car so far, it still says 14k until my first service. That system factors in more than just miles alone - engine revs and driving style all factor in. I drive more aggressively when not on the highway, but most of my commute is 6th gear cruising on the highway.

yeah, I'm talking about miles to service (oil change). Dealership only resets it when I get a oil change/service from them under the free maintenance program. However, when i pay for an additional oil change in between regular covered services, they don't reset it. Does anyone know if I can still can get the regular service even if the computer(in dash) is not telling me to?

You can't get any sort of free maintenance from your dealer unless the computer says the car is ready. What you do in between is your own business, just don't have anyone else reset the computer.
