It varies from person to person. From what I've read of the reports, it has also been happening on completely stock cars. Not sure what the symptoms would be for a crack, I'm sure it varies based on how bad it cracks/busts, but if it is bad enough you pretty much lose power and have to "limp" home or to a shop. Hasn't happened to me personally, so maybe someone who had the unfortunate experience can let you know what their symptoms were.

We've had several customers completely stock with cracked Cps. Its probably a lot more common then you think as most just get it fixed under warranty. Mike |

I know this is an old thread but has any one have any problems with the Active Autowerke BOV/charge pipe popping off? I ask because mine has popped off three times just today. I've only had the pipe on for 3 days...

Where is it popping off from? We use an oem style cnc'd throttle body connector with a C clip. If installed correctly its not going anywhere.

Andrew, It's poppoing off from the throttle body. I think I spoke to you yesterday in reference to this. I was supposed to be sending pictures of the Charge Pipe to you but I actually decided to take it to the dealership to have some of their people look at it. When speaking to one of your techs (the guy with the Jamaican accent) we discovered that the charge pipe might be the issue. This pipe doesn't have "grooves" cut into it where the 90degree bend part of the c-clip would sit. I believe this is not allowing the c-clip to sit deep enough on the throttle body. You might be able to look the ticket up on your file, it was purchased by Mr. Mike Puckett, shipped to 117 oak springs drive Glen Burnie, MD 21060. On the same ticket an XEDE Processor was bought, SN#E9212251209. I purchased this second hand from Mike.
Hetzle, this is being ran on a 09 135i; I believe that's the N54 (TT). I honestly dont think it makes a difference. Last edited by Stan.mac; 08-21-2012 at 04:21 PM.. |
