Order of modifications
Ok, I have a 2011 e93 N55
I have the latest Procede tune. I find it difficult due to living in the Atlanta metro area to do DPs due to emissions. That being said, what is the best order of mods if all cannot be done at once. How much benefit is a new FMIC without DPs? I assume a new FMIC will help cool the intake air not necessarily increase the flow? I am skeptical of any intakes. Methanol addition? with or without FMIC and/or DPs? thx |

A FMIC is a good start made a big difference when I could run stage1+FMIC on my cobb. I would go that route first. I wouldnt worry too much about ga emissions if there is the secondary cat there because thats the one they will generally look for if you fail.

Suspension first; tune, oil cooler, upgraded fan second; fmic third.
That's how I'm doing it, anyway.

How I did mine. Tune, Intake, Down pipe. For me it depends how often I drive my car hard to get an FMIC. MaxCool On does an ok job for me right now. I would love to get the Helix but for just 5hp increase? I'm not feeling that. Maybe if we had a bigger turbo.

The first thing you should do is upgrade the plastic charge pipe if you haven't yet. Not a power adder or something that you can brag to your buddies about but it is so necessary on these cars when going above stock boost levels.
Your e93 ha secondary cats so you should be good on a visual inspection. As long as your tune will turn off the cat readiness code, I don't see you having an issue. |

Everyone makes a charge pipe, pick whatever quality vendor you have done business with or plan to buy from in the future. All they do is take a stock plastic chargepipe, make a mold from it, produce metal pipes with their stamp and sell them. Not really much to screw up there
I have experience in installing Active Autowerke's pipe. Perfect fitment. |

Not sure if adding what I'm going to do matters or even helps - but here it goes:
A list of parts I've sourced already: 1.) ETS FMIC 2.) Charge Pipe (can't even remember the manufacture - but doesn't matter really) 3.) Burger Motorsports Oil Catch Can 4.) OEM Oil Cooler 5.) Will go to BMW to order the larger fan that's available for our cars 6.) ETS Full Cat back exhaust 7.) Cobb AP - will wait for Stage II and download, etc 8.) H&R Sport Suspension 9.) 19" LM Reps I just plan on slapping it all on at the same time after my warranty runs out and then ENJOY!!! |

Hello,
I have a 12' F30 ( I know I am in the e90 section). I notice a lot of people talk about the "charge pipe" My current set up is Meisterschaft exhaust, JB4 stage 1, and challenge HFC downpipe (in that order)..I do not have a upgraded charge pipe and was wondering if I should get one with my current set up? |

Don't knock the fmic I went drop in filter, procede, then ER fmic, CP and BMS catch can, the fmic added plenty of HP. I also have the full M3 suspension set up front and rear. It feels like an M3 on the road....and almost like an M3 on the track. Very satisfied.......for now

Given some recent activity with COBB and the 1+ maps. I would imagine the other tunes can also take advantage of a FMIC to get similar gains. Great news to stay emissions legal.
