Do the Michelin Pilot Super Sports hook up better than the OEM Runflats?
I put a set of PSS's on my wife's stock N55 335 and I can swap them with my new runflats on my 335 if they will hook better. Does anyone have first hand experience?

PSS dominates the RFTs...they're junk, ditch em!

I should start a new show...say yes to the PSS. Would be infinitely more interesting than that say yes to the dress drivel.

How cold are you guys talking? When it gets below 50 degrees, my car spins in 2nd. I was hoping the PSS's would dead hook 2nd gear.

Interesting question at those temps, below 50 my car with 255 section PSS in the back hunts for grip in second from a low-speed roll, assuming you don't get into boost gently. I've never driven my car with RFTs in the winter, so I have nothing to compare it to, but cold pavement is not conducive to traction with summer tires

PSS are amazing compared to the RFT craps! I have a great pair up for sale too!

Any summer tire will perform poorly in temps below 50 degrees. The compound is designed for warmer temps. I can confirm that brand new 255 section RFTs spin easily in 2nd and will probably spin in 3rd in cold temps.

Well, I'm probably going to swap them out. Those of you that have experience with PSS's in cold temps - any chance the runflats could be better below 50 degrees?

No. Runflats are horrible all around. I use the PSS down to 30 degrees and they are fine. You aren't going to hook 2nd with a winter tire anyway. The PSS is really much more all season than you'd expect from a summer tire imho. My only suggestion is to run the PSS at 39-41psi to get some of the road feel back that you lose from ditching rft.

I don't have experience with the PSS in really cold weather -- because, well.... it doesn't get too cold around here. But, I can vouch for how well they work in the rain. Pretty amazing tire, and with a ~300 treadwear to boot. As long as you're okay with not having a spare, do it.
