I run uprated ebc brakes and yellow stuff pads so I've not noticed fade but fair point.

It totally depends on the drivers knowledge of the place. I've been round there in a 330d considerably quicker than some in M3's. I'd imagine that a tuned 335i would be just as quick as a standard E9* M3. Standard car for standard car, the M3 should be quicker, given the same level of driver experience.
