What type of steering wheel is this?

I have this steering wheel and the finish is peeling bad. I keep looking for a non CF/alcantra finish and I can't seem to find one. I don't want to replace the metal strips. Anyone know what type this is so I can search for it better?

It's the standard OEM sport wheel. Check out Tischer for parts...

When you state you don't want to replace the metal strips - do you mean you want a new cover that does NOT have the strips -or- you want to replace with a cover that does use the strips and you will simply swap the strips over?

(1) Your cover uses the metal strips (the strips simply screw on the cover from behind)

Here's a CF example

I have the one like in the picture. I have found the one you have there but I'm looking for a non CF version of that. Tischer only seems to have the trim that doesn't keep the metal. I want to keep the metal trim.

That's what I thought. If you go here:

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...19&hg=32&fg=35

You will see Item #3

For vehicles with
Sports leather steering wheel
S255A=Yes

03 Cover,steer.wheel black/chrome pearlglos 1 09/2006 11/2010 P/N 32306792576 $97.83

The black/chrome pearlglos is referring to the cover with the metal strips. 'Chrome pearlglos' is BMW name for many of their parts that have that type chrome trim (like the shift knob, etc)

Now I plugged in a E90, Sedan, 335i, year 2007, USA and build date of 8/2007 which may not exactly be your car. Go thru on that site and put all the pertinant info for your car, go to the Steering module & find that pic from link above.

If you are unsure, just email Evan @ Tischer with your car info and ask him whether that part number is correct for your car and has the chrome trim.
