Greeting to all fellow bimmer enthusiasts. I drive a 335is in AW and I was wondering what everyone recommends on tint %. Don't want to be harassed by the cops. Thanks.

5% difference isn't going to make or break a cop pulling you over. If they want you on tint, they'll pull you over for 35%

Are they strict in NY? I live in FL on the GA/FL border. In FL I'll only get a tint ticket if they pull me over for something else and feel like being a pain. If I head into GA I have to roll my windows down because they'll pull me over just to give me a tint ticket.

i dont know of many nypd cops who will take the time to pull you over and give you a tint ticket unless you're doing something ridiculous or you end up going through a checkpoint. Of course, there are always exceptions

i think most of the NY tint ticket complaints are from cops upstate or outside of the 5 boroughs

So my car is Alpine White with black interior. NYC cops could get annoying but I think aesthetics will definitely weigh my decision. Anybody have pics of their tint jobs just to compare. Thanks fellas.

I have AW with black interior also. I just got my windows tinted 20% and love them! I'll take some pics later when I get home from work.

Ill post some pics tomorrow morning when you can see it in the daylight. I got Llumar Pinnacle F1 ceramic tinting on my AW E92. 35% front, 15% rear. I wanted 15% all around but had to get 35% on the front windows in order for the installer to provide the lifetime warranty.

I have 15% in the front 5% in the back. The light entering through the front windshield lets it fade and look less dark so it isn't crazy dark during the day. Also if I see a cop I open my sunroof to let more light come in..if I really need to I roll the windows down. I have grey interior so that also helps lighten it up a bit inside. I have to admit 5% gets annoying sometimes because at night in a unlit street its hard to see out the back. Other than that it looks good from the inside and outside

i have a black car with black interior and just recently got a repair order for my tint. it was 27% which isn't even that dark. it depends on who pulls you over and what mood they're in

I put 35% on my side windows and 15% on my rear window. I live in CA and have not been harassed once...yet. This tint % is nice because cops can still look in and see you but at the same time it's hard to see in if that makes since.
