Following the mess in Tottenham its looks as though there were a few riots in Enfield and down south.

Friends of mine in Tottenham were telling me scumbags had the audacity to break into sports shops and take their time to try on shoes !!!??

People walking around with shopping trolleys full of hookey gear.

Should have hosed em all down.

It does sound like a no-brainer, people are reporting clearly hearing the police warnings which were ignored. Hence my comment - IPC need to publish quickly what happened

In this country the law favours the criminals..look at the state of the prisons in the UK compared to everywhere else in the world. And the police here don't even carry standard issued handguns...anyone would be tempted to have a pop at the police. And these criminals/looters/yobs in London are not doing certain ethnicity any favour..giving themselves a bad name by fighting fire with fire.

without sounding like a racist, i think it all started from the immigration policy courtesy of the previous ruling government. Britain should be welcoming highly skilled migrants ie those who could contribute to nation building(look at Australia) and turning away those who do not have good enough reasons to be here... accept any Tom Dick or Harry, good or bad at a drop of a hat with their uncles, aunties,etc and so forth..well you get the picture. This country has seen little progress compared to Australia, USA etc. We wouldn't be in economic recession if things were different.....

Honestly dont think the riots are race related, anyone trying to argue they are, are just being flammatory (i.e the media and the rioters themselves).

Tottenham has a very ethnically diverse population, the looters were of all colours (including white). Most of the youths were likely the bored, unemployed scrotes of the community which lets face it, Tottenham has alot of. Lack of cohesion and funding in the community does not help.

Added to that the man that was shot (and rightly shot if he shot at an officer) was apparently someone high up in the Broadwater estate criminal social circle, which must have contributed to the criminal scrotes and oppurtunsits coming out from the rocks they were hiding under.

At this stage all we can say with any confidence is that...

"The guy was (alledgedly) armed and (alledgedly) shot at police".


IF the report confirms that he was armed and worse that he shot at police, then absolutely, police were right to take him out, but let's face it, the police have form for covering their own backsides in these situtations and leaking information that later proves to be a can of lies (Menenzes springs to mind).
