PPK throttle-release burble and pop

So when I saw a N55 335i in person that had the PPK installed, when he would rev and then release, the car made amazing pops and burbles on a stock exhaust similar to what is seen here. It sounded pretty intoxicating, and I'm wondering a.) what is causing it and b.) can that be dialed into tunes (JB4 or Vish)?

The valve on the exhaust is "programmed" to be open all the time as a nice "side effect" with the PPK. It's not in your head

I wonder if that's all it is. I have catless DP with JB4 and can program the valve open all the time too and it seemed like catted with PPK had a ton of backfiring and popping on throttle lift. Maybe it's a backpressure thing.

Well wtf am I doing wrong. I catch some if I release throttle under load (in gear) but not just free revving. Maybe I need to check that valve setting or something.

It is the effect of the unburned fuel that is left over right when you ease off the accelerator.

Wonder if it is possible to have a setting to mess with that for lots of burble and pop and possibly also fireballs between shifts. That would be sweet.

I have the PPk2 and the Performance Exhaust and my exhaust pops and burbles like a mother...especially if i drive it in "sport mode".
No idea what causes it but yes it is intoxicating

If you want fireballs you should actually try to hit the rev limiter for a split second between shifts under load.
