e90 pre-lci mtech front bumper install

So I've done quite a bit of searching with no luck other than a retrofit guide for an e92 mtech bumper which doesn't look to be the same at all.
I just bought an mtech front bumper for my e90 pre-lci. Does anyone have any experience installing one of these? Is it a direct fit, or will I need to be looking for some new fender liners and a belly pan? Although, the kit did come with a very small belly pan that just doesn't look like it would work properly.

Any insight would be great. Thanks.

Fender Liners are needed. I believe the small piece is an adapter for the stock under engine cover. It's used to extend it so that it can reach the bumper and bolt on to it.

Here's a guide I found online (check out the PDF attached):

http://www.socale90.com/forums/showthread.php?t=270

I'm planning on getting the bumper as well, where did you buy yours and how much was it?

If you ever give up on installing it, I'd be more than happy to buy it off you

Let me know how the install goes! Good luck!

Thanks for your reply. I'v been doing my homework since I opened this thread and found that I need new fender liners and a belly pan (to attach the extension piece to) which I ordered from ECS Tuning at almost half the price of what the dealer quoted me.
I got my bumper locally from a place called Extreme Parts (extremeparts.ca). They don't have the M-Tech listed, but they were able to order it for me for $599 CAD and it came with the grills and fogs as well.
At first I thought the pre-lci m-tech looked a little gross, but I order a 3D Studio lip for it which improves the look drastically.

I hope the adapter you ordered from ECS Tuning was the correct part! I think they have one for the LCI mtech which looks different from the Pre LCI mtech. Although some say that the LCI mtech doesn't require any adapters and it's supposed to be a bolt on fitment to the pre lci e90s, there is still a "belly pan" adapter for it. Make sure you got the right one!

On another note, thanks for the referral on extremeparts.ca. Is the bumper made from polypropylene or polyurethane? Have you tried fitting the lip to the bumper yet? If so, how is the fitment? Are there any gaps whatsoever? I have the lip as well and couldn't agree more on the look. Let me know on how the entire process goes and how everything fits together. Looking forward to see some pics of the final result! I may very well buy it from the same vendor.

He bumper is made of polypropylene and absolutely fit like a glove.
Here are the parts that are required for a hassle free install.
51718040101- left fender liner
51718040102 - right fender liner
51758040111 - underbonnet (belly pan)

I bought all these parts from ECS Tuning and the belly pan came with the adaptor already attached.
The lip fit really good as well, I'll take some pics later today and post them up.

I love the new look and don't regret pulling the trigger at all.

Two questions. Are the brake air ducts aligned properly? Do you know if the bumper would fit a pre-lci e90 335xi with oil cooler and intercooler?

Yes, the brake ducts are perfectly aligned, they are of no concern during install.
The intercooler might not be a problem, but I think I've read somewhere that some modifications are required for the oil cooler. Wish I had a better answer for you.

Serious?! I thought it's bolt on!

Can anyone confirm this? Would it be any different for the Canada cars?

I just recently bought a whole kit and must say for the most part it was pretty good. The only major problem is that the bumper is too short. It does not sit flush where the bumper meets the fenders. I do have the oil cooler. Has anyone else had this problem? Any help would be much appreciated. I was going to go in there and just sand everything down until it sat flush. It seems like my only option.
