A quick video I just uploaded for yer.................

You can see why some people may think these cars are a bit dull. No seriously, no drama just one smooth linear shove from 2k revs. This was when the car was chipped.

i dont think they are dull! after driving round in the old disco for the last 2 weeks the 335 should feel like a lambo by comparison!! i keep thinking about another petrol car for the sound but everytime i come back to the diesel for the performance mpg combination and my wallet gets the better of me, im waiting to see what engine the new 3 series coupe will have, v8 diesel and 8 speed auto i hope.

Yup, I get it. I find mine a bit dull at times. There's very little involvement required to hit ludicrous speeds...it just goes!

335d's are not dull, they are quite good cars

Its some of the owners that are so fecking dull!!! as for some reason as soon as they buy a 335d, nothing in life really seems to matter unless it involves telling other people how great, powerful, deceptive and bloody economical there car is

no other car seems to have this same effect WEIRD

just want to say I don't personally find the car dull but some do due to the linear / constant acceleration.

I never once went on about economy with mine. I couldn't give a toss about it. The way I drove it was shit on juice anyhow!

Far from dull. I never got bored of that mental surge!

With fuel prices going through the roof its hard to overlook cars like the 335d which give so much performance and economy - it all comes down to how much you really want that extra noise and revs that only a petrol can give - tough choice really, the grass is always greener.

It certainly moves and i think it's rapid now and TC is kicking in constantly in this weather.

In the dry with it off in manual mode it is a rocket.

Must admit the 335d was my safe bet this year. Who knows in this doom and gloom but things are looking up. For some reason i really want an rs4 but if i was going to be really daring next year i loved Andrews now gone C63, it's just a bloody animal and you are right, nothing beats that high red line and noise you get from a petrol. But you just have to have a sensible head and enough cash to fund it.

The RS4 is a great car. Avant looks better IMHO!

Also I think it's lacking in the grunt department! But sounds delicious!

I miss the sound of a petrol, but looking around at the performance coupe/tourer/saloon cars I cant see anything that performs that much better (on the road) than the 335D that justifies the huge jump in fuel cost.
