Good thing you just ordered it, now to not get the wife mad, go out buy her something nice and surprise her. Keep doing this every time you buy a mod. This in turn will condition her to think mod = present for me.

Tell me about it. I bought a dedicated car for track and autocross a month ago, which she was fine with, but now I'm modding it. It's not going over well.

I have one of the more expensive hobbies. I collect antique and modern chess sets. The most expensive one I've seen in person was valued at £35,000 (that's $70,000 at today's rate of exchange). That's more than $1000 per piece!

Sorry guys. No sister, only a brother if you guys swing that way. (J/K...)
Seriously, it really is that easy. Only time she gets pissed is when she thinks I put the car before her (e.g., when I tell her not to put on makeup while in the car - sh!t gets all over the leather!! -- you should see the black interior on her X3!) And no pics for you! But I will probably try to make it to my first meet since moving to SoCal sometime soon. She will probably come along (as long as I promise to go shopping w/her while we are in LA/OC) |

yeah women in general are a unique species....They are not like men as far as mind frame goes...They will never understand what we want, but if we don't understand what they want, we are called insensitive....Any wife that is okay with buying a 1400 Procede mod is up to no good...There is ALWAYS something hidden behind a good will jesture of that nature...maybe she wants something hmmmmm!!! A coach bag which i can't see paying 400 or so or a Louie V bag that cost 700...Now thats crazy mod for a girl!!! But i never bitch at that...next time i will..lol

My wife doesn't get the car thing, but has been tolerant of my car and detailing "addiction." When I recently decided to order the M-tech kit I considered not even mentioning it because I knew she would not notice the difference. I ran this by my brother and he said "Tell her - she will be happy for you." I did and she said "I'm sure you will just love it!" Now I didn't go into the details of cost, etc. Tit for tat my wife is taking my daughter to Italy in September; we just got back from a 2 week trip to Italy a couple of months ago.

Didn't your wife know you had the sickness before she married you? My wife has known I had the modding disease since the early days of dating.
ps. I have wheels, black lines and a blacked out grill being delivered for a car that I don't even have yet (it'll be here within a week)! She's pissed, but she loves me! Dinan335i's comments about letting them shop; definitely good advice! |

I am modding FOR my wife :-) She is the one who wanted the carbon fiber dash kit the most...I think it will look awesome too, but it is here DD.
Oh, and after I showed her pics of the blacklines, she couldn't wait to get those either. |
