Side bolster leather
Hey guys,
Got a 2011 E93 335 with Dakota brown leather and only 18k on the clock. I custom ordered it and has been in my possession the entire time. I have started to see fading on the leather left side bolster. I told my SA, but he stated that BMW rarely replaces leather as they see it as "wear and tear". He made a note on the computer but said its just for paper trail. My best bet was to contact BMW NA customer service. I know some of you out there have had leather pieces replaced under warranty at certain dealers. Could you all provide some recommendations? Either dealers that will play ball or SA's? Btw I went to Crevier, which is where I purchased the vehicle from. Thanks in advance!

I don't see how this would ever be replaced under warranty. is wear and tear for sure. From you getting in and out the car it has worn. It is not a defective piece. Good luck, but i wouldn't hang my hat on it getting replaced. I just don't see how that'll be possible. But if you do have luck let us all know how you did it.

Do you have any pics?
My car has 30k miles and the side bolsters are in very good shape. When I get in the car, I make sure to land right in the middle of the seat without rubbing against the side bolster. It's actually a huge pet peeve of mine when people squish the side bolster when they get into my car. Besides that, I make sure to regularly clean and condition my seats. That keeps the leather soft and prevents cracks. |
