Paul, I thought it was pretty imminent, summer-ish. Don't know about the engines but assume the usual range to appear - maybe quickly phased in. Looks gorgeous doesn't it. I had a call from my local dealer 2 nights ago, just a random keeping-in-touch call, and mentioned I'd be interested in one but didn't ask when it would be out. Problem is the one I'd want (435i or 440i whatever it'll be called) will be sodding expensive specced up . Hope all is well with you.

edit - quick google search revealed this - later 2013 launch...

That's my fear as well... IF I thought BMW could get us a vehicle that isn't heavier than the E92, and cost an extra $10k I may have waited... As it is I felt like I had to jump before I missed my shot. But I cannot wait to see the 4 series and see what they do with it engine wise.

Stunning. My 2012 e92 suddenly feels dated.....

Unfortunately I bet itll cost a sore sight more than my e92 did when specced to msport with the occasional toy.

Don't be deceived... those pictures are of the 4Coupe Concept. The production car will be more 'normal' than that...

Well, the 6er and 6er GT remained largely unchanged from concept to showroom, so fingers crossed...

this exact thing!
But I don't do new cars anyway so I've got a2 -3 yr wait before I consider buying one anyway. What I do know is it will be the top spec'd normal engine or the M4!

I kinda sucks that they are making the coupe versions that much more expensive now.
It probably means that my next car will be a 2 series....

Think the 2 series is the way to go; smaller, more poised and precise. The new 4 looks way too lardy and large to be a focussed sports car anymore. It's more of a cruiser/tourer than a "driving machine"...

There's rumours that they will release a 335d but only in xDrive. But it's just hear say just now.
