Ok Ok, I guess I'll just have to take your word on that. Upload a video though so we can see your great automobile in action! Chip certainly comes next for me, until then we'd probably be a good heat

I've taken my car to 160 many times and on video at that. You think I'd let my buddy do it before me! hahaha... you are seriously funny if you think so. He just wanted to try it himself and I didn;t think he'd have the balls. Anyway, my car is nicer than yours. Let's just let the facts remain the facts. I also have done 180+ in my Sl63... just sayin

Fact is that the 335I around here that are tuned are faster than yours as you tried to point out that it takes them awhile to get to this magic 160 that you ridiculously uploaded on a "private road" worrying about Highway Patrol. Now I will give ya the DCT and some other things about the Is that I like which is why I have half a notion to buy one. |

It is hilarious how you keep trying to blast my spot or blow me up. What kind of weasel snitch kid are you? You are that one guy who just spoils the mood aren't you? Have some fun, life is short. I never said 160 is magic or anything like that, but I owned a 335i before my is and I am telling you there is a huge difference without tune ups. I will be chipping my is soon and that will be enough speed for me.

Not tryin to blast or blow anything you have goin on up. Just trying to actually understand the truth. You kinda seem to be all over the place. Private road or not private road? You driving or your buddy driving?

Does it look like a private road? Sorry I am not trying to say anything incriminating. Not me driving, that would be my friend Zilla. Yes, I have taken this car 160 many times, on video too but we both know it is not smart to have a video of yourself doing such things public. So for everyone's entertainment this is what I have shared for the public, my car doing exactly what I could do with it but with someone else driving it.

Gotcha.....That makes sense. I am actually going to order a 2012 Is it looks like....Everyone will call me an idiot because I have a 2011 335I but I only paid 43.3 for the car and didn't pay taxes. So if I work it right I am not really out that much

Yea man thats actuall a great idea. From what I hear the limited availability of the IS is making it a collectors item...Depending on the condition of your 335i you could do really well with the switch. I haven't heard about next years production in terms of how many will be made. My old 335i lemoned so they gave me a ridiculously good deal on my IS and I had it one month after I ordered it one year ago..I didn't even see another one on the road until at least 4 months later! It is a great car and I drive it over my other cars that I shelled out even more for.

Car is in Excellent condition....9k miles, rims, tint, JB, and pretty much all the exterior stuff. It is easy to do living in Germany with the military sales program since I won't pay taxes on it while I am here. I am just waiting for Aug 1st to see what BMW comes up with for the Is as far as packages, colors, options etc. I heard that was the date you can order I could be wrong on that though. Ext and Int colors are the biggest cause I already know what I want in it.
Another reason is that the more I talk to people and read the more I think I want the N54 as opposed to the N55. |

Then you'll certainly be doin the right thing making the switch like I did. The m3 was very much in m price range but I love everything about the IS... except the stock radio and softness of the stock wheels/tires.. with a chip these things are monsters

I don't want the M3 for gas mileage/daily driver reasons. I might be wrong on this but I heard that when you tune it or chip it that it pretty much is like a 335I as the overboost feature is pretty much gone. Is that correct?

I'm actually not sure about that, really I can't imagine considering the main difference seems to solely be the DCT and exhaust as well as a bigger intake and other minor changes. I feel like it is the same boost either way but the is having those other options would probably still make it pull much faster

I'd ask those clowns at the dealership when I go tomorrow but they prob don't know and to be honest I just want to know how much the Is is going for. From what I have read the military deal base price is 44.1 and if my math is right with what I want it will be around 55.

Yea I got an amazing lease deal because they begged me to stay quiet about my first car so I couldn't tell you. But I am paying the same rate as my old 335i

Great discussion here, I'm looking for a change from my beloved Lexus IS-F. Had always wanted an M3, but now am in the same boat as many of you. Debating a used M3 or a new 335is. Also, looking at the Z435is, which has the 15 extra horses, like the 1M. Appreciate the perspectives.

I do not own a 335is and own a N54 335i and I disagree with you on almost everything. I feel like you are very uninformed about this car.
It looks great in person or in pictures. It is not trying to be a an M3. It has its own unique look and character. I have an N54 335i and it has been nothing but trouble free. I would take it over the N55 again and again. There is a reason why they used it in 1M. How is a 3.5 year old used up $48K M3 exclusive? My friend exclusive would be some thing like a Ferrari 458 or 430, Audi R8, or a Lambo. Anybody that can buy a brand new fully loaded 328i can afford a 3.5 year old used up M3. Yes, I agree 100% that M3 is the ultimate in 3 series performance. But in order to gain all that extra performance. You have to give up on gas mileage. There is no way in hell M3's gas mileage is any where near that of a 335is. The M3 might have the edge on track but 335is is a better daily driver in every day use. It has far more torque available at very low rpms compared to an M3. Like they say buying a car is easy and any body can do it but maintaining it after warranty is another. There is a reason why market is flooded with nearly 4 year old used M3's. Because now is the time the bill will be coming out of your pocket. As the original owner has enjoyed most of the years under warranty and free maintenance. As a used M3 owner struggles with expensive warranty and maintenance bills out of warranty. The 335is owner will be enjoying the free maintenance and full factory warranty. Your only hope with nearly 4 year old M3's is 2 year added CPO warranty or after market warranty. Either way you will have to pay extra for both and neither are as good or as comprehensive as the original BMW factory warranty. Also, maintenance pkg are quite expensive. As far as pricing goes the 335is is about 15-20% cheaper then comparable new M3. Also, I am guessing you have no idea that BMW has much nicer lease deals available on new 335is vs a new M3. According to BMW NA you can pick up a nicely loaded 335is for less then $600 a month. You will not even be able to touch M3 for any where near that lease amount. Bottom line is M3 is the ultimate performance 3 series. The 335is offers 80% of what M3 offers in performance at 80% of the M3 price. Oh with the lease deals factored in 80% of M3 performance at 60% of M3 price. The 335is is a very nice car specially with the BMW NA lease deals. Quote:

Almost a year of ownership and my 335is still makes me smile each and every day. It's still a surprisingly rare sight, even in South Fl. DCT is a lot of fun and provides really nice flexibility. I am really glad I bought this car!
