JB+ on BMW Power Kit - first review
A friend om mine who has a power kit as well installed a JB+ to see how it goes. I didn't really know what to expect, but it feels great! Lot more punch from the bottom and around 4500rpm it really starts flying. It was set to 50% (on the standard JB+, not the special one you can get for cars which have a flash).
We drove with the Bav tech attached and no codes where thrown! Also the pressure looked good, did several WOT. Last edited by marcel b; 08-16-2010 at 10:10 AM.. |

it feels great. the car does not boost above 1.6 bar target ( regular JB+, settings at 50% ) which is more than fine where my 335i boosted well above 1.9 bar target. don't forget, the JB+ just changes the environment variables, every performance increase is done by the (OEM PK) ECU tune, with all safety checkpoints in place. No codes have been thrown ( except HPFP, not caused by JB+ ).
hope you get your HPFP replaced soon. eugen |

I am more inclined towards GIAC, honestly. I think I am going to go with GIAC stage 1 (or possibly Stage 2)...looks like a very good tune and I don't have a lot of warranty left. But JB+ may be a nice stopgap for the next few months...

Intake, FMIC, downpipes, GIAC stage II - go for it. Very different. We are talking about a very effective < US$300 mod here.
