I could have gone that route but it would have ended up being a bit out of my price range

For the right price and timeline anything is possible for me considering my 335i is pretty much laid up all the time and it is not my daily driver. It could be as simple as shipping my car to them. What kind of a ballpark price would they be shooting for?

Just talked to tony. Real nice sounding guy. The reality of my situation is no matter how much I don't need my car, the distance is just too great to provide any worthwhile support after the upgrade is done. And I'm sure they'd like to have a local car so they could frequently check up on the installation to make sure its tip-top. But for someone in the area that has a second car they don't mind driving around for a while, I think these are great guys to work with.

Wouldn't a gt35r be a little laggy down low?

Yea that's also what I'm worried about...I'd be happy with a GT30R since it's less laggy and I'm not looking to get 600whp

...I think a pair of gt25s would be tasty (if they'd fit)...we'd prolly even get more power with a pair of gt22s.

I will be watching with anticipation & enjoyment to see if anyone tries a gt35...it would be awesome if it worked out.

This forum has been very boring lately, I would have enjoyed a thread like this a month or so ago... instead of just sitting around complaining that nothing is getting done in the upgraded turbo world, I went and GOT stuff done.
I for one appreciate and enjoy reading your thread to the fullest, and it's getting more and more exciting

compared to the stock micro snails??? yes it would feel laggy down low. Just learn to drive a turbo car and keep it in the powerband and you will NEVER regret a 35r on a BMW inline 6. trust me. Unless of course you use your 335 for auto-x'ing....but then again you bought the wrong car totally if thats what you are into.

Seriously, I've been keeping a close eye on this thread and have a hard time believing the naivety and immaturity that some people are manifesting.

Most enthusiasts with other platforms out there can buy brand new snails bigger than a human head for well under 1K. Want ball bearing? Add a few hundred. By publicly speculating on price and vomiting prices like 2k for two rebuilt key-chain sized snails you're doing a disservice to yourself and your community and guaranteeing some form of "BMW Tax".

It seems like the OP is working with solid companies with experience and knowledge. We all know the company must have had a good idea on how to price this product, but if it's going to be marked up by a few hundred bucks it's all thanks to the geniuses in this thread talking about prices.

I am eager to see what the final results will be just like everyone else, but I too find it frustrating having to read through 30 pages comprised of 90% garbage and 10% relevant information. I don't blame the OP because - as he mentioned - he clearly stated the purpose of this thread from day one, but is it really that hard to STFU for some of you and have some discipline to wait for updates and prices?

JP, I admire what you guys are doing and look forward to some good news both in terms of power as well as reliability. I am quite intrigued by this project.

Regards,

-Walter

The project is exciting but the gains so far seem a little disappointing to me for the costs especially labor involved. Someone could just add a little stronger tuning to the stock turbos and get these gains. Will we see dynojet runs on 93 for comparison?

you wont see those gains on stock turbos without adding nitrous. They are already maxed out.
