I will add my cheers for Irv Robinson of Motorwerks BMW. While I have not yet ordered my car (I will be doing the Euro Delivery thingy in September!!) I have found Irv to be a high class individual.

Irv knows his stuff , is very enthusiastic and is a joy to just call and yack!!

HIGHLY recommended!!!

Cheers,

I talked to Irv today about an ED on a 335i cabrio. What can I expect as far as pricing compared to another dealer? What about a standard dealer delivery? I am trying to decide if the money saved on an ED justifies the extra wait after picking the car up for delivery to the US. If the savings will approach $4k, it should be well worth it. Please PM if you have any thoughts or experiences with Irv or a recent ED. I lived in Bavaria for 3 years back in the late 70's and have been to the factory and museum in Munich. Also considering a PCD but realize the price will be higher. What kind of savings do you realize if you lease a car and do an ED? Thanks.

My initial impression of Irv is very positive. Beginning to work up a deal for a hopeful delivery on May 4th.

Irv, if you are listening, call me tomorrow. I think I am ready to pull the trigger. Would like to discuss delivery at a local dealer if possible. If not, no big deal.

I am a newbie to E90Post, and actually came across this site when researching Irv. I originally found his name on another site, and decided to contact him along with a few other Euro Delivery sales specialists around the country, and Irv won me over. I just wanted to write a quick 'Thank You' to this site with helping me find a top notch dealer to work with, and figured that this thread was as good as any.

Even though I am in AZ, it has been easy and painless working with Irv. I look forward to meeting him in person when I pick my car up in IL in April/May (Euro pickup is set for March 13).

He is honest, up front, hard working and responsive. I decided yesterday that I wanted to add an option, and emailed Irv to see if it was too late, and he wrote back within an hour to say that the change had been made and everything was good to go.

Thanks again to everyone at E90Post.com for being such a fantastic resource, and to Irv for the great experience.

It's nice to hear good things about a CA, namely Irv mentioned in this thread.

I will give my .02 and say I don't feel it's necessary to go outside a 10-20 mile radius from home when looking for a BMW dealership, that is, if you live in a metro area/NFL city if you will.

Back in Oct. I had obtained quotes via edmunds.com in the NYC area that blew my mind, $1100 to $1800 off on the first reply. I went to my local dealership, about 4 miles from my house in PA, and they said why go to NYC to buy a car? They said they can match any quote and when you need svc. you'll get a free loaner. You'd get that from any dealer, but if the dealership is far away, you wont be able to use it. So I ultimately bought in my own neighborhood, which I think made it very easy to get through the waiting on the E92 because the CA also lived in the neighborhood and was willing to meet me on the drop of a dime. Long story short don't assume you can't get a great deal locally....my .02.

Good point on buying locally. Unfortunately for me, there is only one BMW dealer in Tucson and they would not go below MSRP. A dealer in Phoenix did a little better on price than the local dealer, but was still high and they wanted to add a bunch to the lease's MF. Thus, I ended up making the decision to look outside of the state. C'est la vie...

Irv is the best hands down! I never thought I could have such a great experience buying a car! I've bought my 330xi June 2006 from him and I did ED. It was fantastic! If you want, you can read more about the trip and Irv here:

the July article.
He is one of a kind, very knowledgeble, trustworthy and helpful.

Irv has been a very helpful member of the site and will soon be a site sponsor. He will have his very own sticky thread in this forum to address questions and offer his services.

I purchased my last 2 vehicles through internet salespeople but found little response from the BMW reps other than "call me to discuss pricing". I prefer to mull over the numbers before getting the fast talk. Then I can call if we're in the same ballpark.

I found Irv on the BMW forums and couldn't be more pleased. He offers any information via email and is then very friendly and knowledgeable on the phone. I drove 1-1/2 hours to meet him in person last week, and to take a test drive. He's about as genuine as they come. No B.S., no pushy sales. He's definitely a BMW and ED enthusiast. To top it off, his dealership stocks more cars and more options than any I've seen.

Needless to say, we've set a date for May 4th ED of a 335xi sedan in Montego Blue with Black leather, aluminum, premium, sport, comfort, manual trans, coldweather and parking assist options.

I can't wait.
Similarly I have had nothing but problems from local dealers trying to play games; even being a repeat customer!

I called Irv as a direct result of these forums and without question he has a substantial knowledge and enthusiasm most of us would likely appreciate.

Irv has set me up to purchase my '08 335i coupe in October at the new BMW Welt facility. I will play for three weeks and return the car to Harms where it will be shipped to the PDC so that I can enjoy the benefits of that experience as well. Locally I have had enough trouble finding a CA who will take the time to talk to me as if I was buying a car right then and there, why should I give them my business if they really aren't earning it? Irv wants your business and it shows. Thanks for taking great care of me Irv!

Although I didn't buy from Irv, I talked to him on the phone while shopping around last year for my ED 325i, hen was obviously straightforward and helpful with no sales pitches, quite a surprise in a car salesman. I opted to buy from someone else only because Irv was further away... moneywise it was a wash.

Another vote for Irv. He's done great for himself in the past year, he built a website and a blog to help his customers have access to all the recent information on European Delivery.

I recommended him to a lot of my friends, and he has never let me down

Another vote for Irv. He is a stand up guy. Buy from him especially if you are near Chicago for an easy pickup.

Once again, I have to say that Irv is one of the best salesman I've had a chance to work with. The delivery date draws near and we stay in communication every step of the way.

Two thumbs way up!

In my experience thus far, Irv has to be one of the more enthusiastic, informed, professional, and genuine CA's Ive come across. His mannerisms and honesty are very evident. Although I could have purchased from a local dealer, I gladly opted to buy from Irv as he offered me a deal that was competitive, plus buying from him was just a great experience. Definitely recommend him to others considering doing ED or just even good old traditional style delivery.
check out edbmw.com, great information about ED for current and prospective ED'ers in the future!

My European Delvery is scheduled for April 20th. Working with Irv has been great. I am fortunate that I am 5 miles from Motor Werks, but I will go out of my way to work with Irv again.
