Another dealer rant (sales related)
Yes, it's about a dealer located around Dixie Road.
Is it just me inquiring about a used BMW car at a wrong time (a holiday season) or the used car sales people at that dealer sit very high on their high horses especially towards out-of-towners? I am in the market of trading my current 2007 335i with their 2011 550i CPO. First they asked me info about my car. I responded with everything (VIN#, mileage, etc, etc). I haven't heard anything back in a week. I emailed them, they never responded. I suppose their loss.....not willing to do a business with me. |

Wondering the same thing....Was looking to trade in my loaded 07 335 e92 coupe with 40,000kms on it (mint condition, not hits) for an 08 M-coupe. The guy basically told me my car was not worth much anymore and gave me a trade in value of only $17,000. When i told him that was clearly unreasonable, he shook my hand and said "well then good luck selling it privately", and walked away..i drive past the dealership (autowest bmw in richmond bc) at least once a week and Ive noticed they've had the same inventory on their lot for a long time now, so I'm not sure where the smug attitude is coming from....

I actually first contacted that dealer December 19, 2012.
Perhaps they received their bonuses on December 18, 2012 The only thing I could think was my out of warranty status at 102,000km. However, the car is trouble free and I have all the maintenance records. I also serviced my car at the local BMW dealer. |

OP, I traded in my 2011 550xdrive Msport (no other options) to TC back in the Sep 2012 with 35000Km. I believe they still have this on their inventory because they are asking way too much for the car. I have no issue at all, except couple of minor ones when I took delivery and since then the most reliable bimmer I have ever owned.

Not a manual transmission though....
Actually my 335i is very reliable so I will just keep it if they are not willing to trade. Quote:

Stealerships....what can you say.
All they care about is the initial sale and after that - screw the customer. |

a 2007 335i is not going to fetch a lot of $ on a trade in to a dealer. People need to accept this...

Yes, I accept the fact and very aware of that.
What I don't accept is the dealer's fat cat mentality. I haven't even gotten my car appraised. I think they just don't want to deal with an out of towner with 2007 335i....Perhaps it's too much hassle to sell it. |

They are idiots then. Your $ is just as good as someone who is local.

Honestly, I'd rather deal with BMW dealers out of my area.
The local BMW dealers here have very huge fat cat mentality due to their unlimited supplies of repeat customers who are willing to pay premium prices (the diplomatic corps). I never thought the GTA dealers caught up as well. |

Record sales for BMW AG during 2012, so dealers are doing just fine.
http://www.inautonews.com/bmw-to-rea...s-sold-in-2012 They did well in 2011 as well, so probably a few years of good sales numbers have made sales people a little apathetic. If you won't buy that car, someone else will come in to buy it. Tougher times make for more hungrier sales people and better deals! |

Honestly, sale guys at dealers are talking non-sense, they just care about the money they are gonna get from the deal. |

there are some 335i in GTA going for $20 000's.
If you aren't happy with their pre -sale customer service, aren't you happy you didn't buy from them. : )

Let me deviate the topic a bit here.
Has anyone here ever dealt with Venus Fine Cars in North York, ON? Any positive/negative substantial feedback is greatly appreciated. |

Directly to the Sales Manager. Yup - they were trying to pull some old school tricks to my friend, who happens to be in the industry as well and we were fed up to the point that we walked out.
