A JB2H can still trip the detection triggers for some ECUs. Not an issue for JB3s You would have to wire the JB2 to exclude the fuel enrichment and thats not really ideal unless you plan on running 96+ octane all the time.

I was thinking of getting the JB2H as well before the JB3 came out, but the following points convinced me to go for the JB3:
1. Eventually your car will be upgraded to a 29.2+ progman version, so you will not be able to enjoy the JB2 at its fullest, not to mention the "H". 2. JB3 is FAR superior than JB2. It is microprocessor based (unlike the JB2) therefore it controls many more parameters and delivers the power MUCH better. 3. The JB3 is upgradable and has many different maps so you have the option of choosing the one that fits your needs. If money is an issue, get the pinout version which is $579. You will never get as much bang (literally) for your buck |

Thats why you get JB2X so you can choose the power you want + have the power to switch to race fuel.

I think you missed my point - the JB2h with the fuel enrichment disabled (and the required higher octane) is a crutch.
If your gonna spend 490 for the JB2x why not just spend a little extra more and get the JB3?

I had the JB2H before upgrading to JB3 and I have to agree that its power delivery is much smoother and well worth the extra money. There is a saying. Do it once do it right...

Is this true? If you run just the jb2 without hooking up the blue & green wire for the fuel enrichment to make it undetectable you have to run 96 octane all the time?

Well, I might have oversimplified a little - it will still be undetectable but without FE, your gonna be pulling timing at the 11+ psi level except in the coldest weather. 96 or something close is the only way around that issue.

So what your saying is having a jb2 doing the special fix to make it undetectable in Texas hot weather on 93 octane alone is not good enough. Will it knock? I was told by Terry that it should run fine with no issues.

Well, T has more experience than I thats for sure. I was specifically referring to the H pill on top of a JB2 with no fuel enrichment. Your gonna be on the ragged edge.. especially if you get a bad tank of gas.

I had a JB2H and at that time it has been a good tune ( I use 95.5 AKI octane gas - Shell V-power 100 here in Europe ). The tunes have been further developed with great results. Go for a brand new piggyback.

Isn't that the exact reason why you SHOULDN'T go with the PROcede and SHOULD go with the JB3?

The PROcede is very different compared to the JB3:
- Datalogging functionality - Map updates from internet - Remote map switch Now, if you don't need this go with the more cheap unit. If you want warranty and not to hide an engine performance tune go with an ECU-flash. - Eugen |

If you think about it.... JB in General and Visnu in General will always be at war, period. It's like Religion...
