I did consider CF as i've seen a few examples, but i had piano black before and just thought it would be a better match for my interior (have a piano black steering wheel cover and handbrake cover). Plus that viynl was a very reasonable price. That's why i chose viynl over painting, looks legit, its cheap and changeable.

On another note, i can't believe i haven't washed the car since i've had it. I need to also do that soon and add some protection.

There's definitely something about being able to join a motorway in the way that engine lets you!

Both right, it feels wonderful

No updates really so far. Things have been a bit hectic. I have managed to buy Ian's (hotcoupe) wheels, can not wait!!! So my RFTs are on sale (£550 shipped) and the 230s will go for sale after.

Still haven't finished the trim wrapping or even started on the audio. But i'm definitely going to soon. Can't bear it anymore and i'm so glad i didn't sell all the audio. Would've definitely regretted it. So thanks everyone for telling me it was a stupid idea!

Another side of things i want to improve is the suspension. When i first got it it seemed amazing, but that's probably because i was comparing a 335D to a 320D. After a few weeks of pushing it to its limit, it really doesn't work for me now. Ride isn't great, rear is too twitchy and the front could do with being more precise. My plan is to get some coilovers, i'm leaning towards the Ohlins Road & Track, and will also replace the rear subframe bushes with M3 ones. There are a few other M3 bits that i might replace too.

But the suspension upgrades will probably take a few months. I'm going to try and do the audio, wrapping, outer trim & grill, tips and boot lip before that.

Only after I have sorted the suspension out i will go for a remap. I don't see the point if you can't put it all down on the road.

I still think you should go with birds set up rather than coil overs. It is a road car after all

Coilovers can work very well on the road, plus i will hopefully be tracking the car too, but not much.

I've tried out both and i find the Ohlins kit superior IMO. It handles road surfaces with ease. It's hard to comprehend, but higher spring rates can give a better ride if the dampers are good.

I just don't believe that one spring matched with one damper can suit all applications/road surfaces. I feel more comfortable knowing that i can adjust to my taste.

I have to correct you here as you're mistaken.. I'd hate for anyone reading it to think the same.

I drive a 460hp Volvo - 13 litres, its torque figure is 1700lbft - or about 2300nm!!!

That's average or slightly above average for an articulated truck but I'm sure you'll agree its substantially more than a mapped 335d!!

If like to see 700nm try pull 44 tonnes haha. LOL

To add more..

One of the most beefy engines you can get now is a 16 litre 750hp engine. This makes 3550nm!!! That must be epic..

Mine will spin the wheels in 10th gear in the wet at full weight.!

I am mistaken. However they are more powerful then most comercial Lorrys

However if you had 5 335d engines you would get 15 litres 30 cylinders and 3500nm of torque with around 1600bhp. Quite some thought.

I still like the thought of aero engines cars of the 20's and 30's how about a RR Merlin engine developing around 2000bhp when supercharged. I think that's 16+ litres.

That's the one.. I'm a Volvo man so you can keep you're Scania (with it's very impressive engine!)

I've never driven one with that much go but I'd like to out of interest.

As above, 5 x 335d engine would give some impressive stats but at the same time I doubt they'd be good for an average of 10mpg and a million km's !!

1mm wear with 2.5k miles in a month is bad right? The tyres were the Potenza RFTs....

That would suggest you will get 15k out of a set of tyres. You have been hooning it with your new toy.

You can do that in 10mins on a track day.
