For Sale: OEM 189 Style 18" Wheels and Tires

Hey Guys,

I upgraded to a set of 19" M3 GTS replica wheels, so my original 18" 5-spoke 189's are lying at some shop in Tokwawan on consignment. I reckon the tires have about 70% of their tread-life left, and the wheels are in pretty good condition. There is a little road-rash here and there, nothing a good repair job couldn't make look brand new again. The front tires are the OEM Bridgestone run-flats, but it looks like the previous owner changed the rear one's out for non-runflat Bridgestone's. I don't have pictures, but if anyone is interested, I'm only asking HK$5,000 for everything. I'll arrange to get the wheels back from the shop that's holding them if there is enough interest. This is a worthwhile upgrade for anyone with a non 335i 3 Series. They really make the car look very svelte and aggressive at the same time.

Here are the specs:
18x8J Front 225/40 W
18x8.5J Rear 225/35 W

Here's what they look like for those of you that don't know:

I feel your pain man. It happened to my previous ride too. But look at the bright side, it's time for the M-tech front.

Yeah.. I wasn't planning on backing up there. I decided at the last moment I was going to grab a sneaky parking spot after being stopped for a while. I couldn't see that damn red erectile dysfunction of a hydrant. My only clue was that god-awful crunching sound after it was too late. Thankfully it looks like all the damage was isolated to the bumper and and the side-panel.

So yes, time for an mtech front I'm a little bit worried about blocking the brake and oil cooler ducts though. Does anyone know if I should get all of the original mtech bits? Some people say its nessesary, others say its a waste of money...

Haha, I just jacked my own thread. BUY MY WHEELS!!

Hey Vish...nice meeting you yesterday. Painful to see your bumper like that. You're lucky the left headlight didn't crack or scuff your rims.

Anyway, in case you're wondering about the m-tech bumper, it'll take 3-4 weeks to come as BMW will need to order from Germany. Below should be the parts for the m-tech bumper and it costs HKD $19.5k (not including paint/install). But I think a complete M-tech kit will cost just as much. Derek can confirm.

Holy crap, that's expensive! I've called a couple of places to see what they can do. Are these BMW HK prices? Thanks for the info, it was great meeting you too yesterday. Sorry if i wasn't being that talkative, wasn't in the best mood.

Thanks guys, just ordered the full mtech replica kit from cargym. The owner, Ronno guaranteed 100% fitment, so if there are any issues, I'll just hassle him I'll probably order the oem brake/oil ducts from valiant if they give me a decent price. BMW HK quoted me something crazy for the passenger side fender, so i think i might just see if the body shop can repair the clips on my existing one.

Think I'm going to repaint the car Lambo Balloon White. Might as well turn this little misfortune to even larger one

Thanks again for all your help guys, really appreciate it!

Haha, maybe I'll get it wrap it LSB when i start to miss my departed beloved too much after a few years. Nevertheless, Balloon White is a pretty awesome color. It has a bluish tinge in the sunlight.

I hear you take some pretty awesome photographs Icy J; once its all done I might need to enlist your services!

Sure, no problem

is this balloon white? I swear it has more of a yellow-ey look rather than a bluish one

I don't think so. Lambo has a whole bunch of white's. Balloon is by far the sickest.

Laguna Seca Blue, how long did it take you to find your manual E46 M3? How many other manual E46 M3s have you seen in HKG?
