My booking form is in the post, 'novice' box ticked!.... Donny on Monday was awesome.

A CSL and E30 M3 fest.....it needed a few more V8 M3's though.

I'll be wanting to try out my new diff and roll bars too.

£120 is a bargain, and open put lane days are hard to find these days, the only risk is the weather that time of year.

also.... most of the drivers seem to be genuine BMW enthusiasts first, with their pride and joy cars, rather than nutter hooners out to prove a point in their track day specials risking your car in the process.

Yes you could - run it by your sales manager or DP - it's good PR and fully tax deductable.
Plus Sytner Sheffield owe me big time for a weekend display we are doing there this weekend

Hahaha.... somehow I don't think Darren needs to run it by his sales manager or DP....

Darren, I think a call into Andy B at Buchloe might be in order - see if he can ship the B6GTR over for the day!!!

Hi Nick

Caterham is a 150bhp VVC - exhaust was rated at 86DB drive by at Bedford week before last.

Dont need to ask anyone - I am the BMW Franchise Director at Sytner.

Am checking with our insurance company now re cover...may be able to bring along a few cars if the cost is not too prohibitive.

If it works out okay, would it be okay to offer forum members drives in the cars on the day?

Could bring along a selction of M product etc.

mmm... starting to like the sound of this.

Thanks
Darren

I think it is a fantastic idea Darren, and a great bit of PR for BMW. AT the end of the day, we are all enthusiasts with many of us driving expensive Beemers. A drive in an M5 might influence our next choice of car purchase (it is highly likely to be my next motor) and there is little oppurtunity to test drive one in a 'proper' environment

Tony

Great suggestion!

I've got Andy Priaulx and his WTCC 320i giving hot laps at Brands in November for a sales exec incentive - trouble is it has to be the only car on the track at the time so I suspect the Alpina would be a similar situation so would take track time away from the fee paying drivers. I will ask though...assuming that's okay with you Nick?

Sorry Darren didn't know who you were - it's been a v long time since we went down to Leicester.. assuming thats where it all still happens!..

..anyhow, we would love to have you and a bit of Alpina presence.. it's a shame we didn't talk before as you could have come to DP and had a double garage alongside ACS and Hartge.

Manni Wollgarten drove the wheels off the ACS3 on Monday doing demo drives amid all the other drivers on track. We didn't have a problem and it was OK'd by Aachen.

The last thing I want to do is take away time from the customers - if the car really does need to be run solo then maybe we can make arrangements with OP to use the lunch hour.

Thats all fine by me as well - don't forget to let the insurance company know that it is not a public trackday.
It's a BMW Car Club GB event run by and for the benefit of it's members.. with a few forum guests as well

Okay. thanks Nick.

Should have some news on insurance tomorrow and will also contact Alpina at some point in the day. My email address is darrenedwards@sytner.co.uk - perhaps you can send me the neccessary forms? Also once you have the dates for 2010 let me know so that we can get something planned for each event.

Cheers

Darren
