I-Drive screen won't turn off

When I shut off my car, the I-Drive (and turn signal if it's still blinking) stays on unless either:

1. I press the on-off button a 2nd time or
2. I lock the car.

Is this normal behavior?

Yes. It also turns off by itself after 20 mins or so.

Brunotheboxer, I recommend you try it before making that statement. I have idrive, and laugh at all the magazines that say that it's a pain to use and really inefficient. I wanted to have a nav system since many times I like to go to restaurants in new areas that I don't know. The system has info on destination like restaurants, attractions, parks, etc. Also, it's really efficient and safe to use your cell phone with bluetooth. The navigation does a really nice job with routes and giving you alternates routes if you miss an exit, etc.

In terms of if it stays on when you turn your car off, I've never experienced this. It's always worked flawlessly, just turning off after pressing Start/Stop and removing the key (I don't have convenience package).

It is normal...My car is like that. This way if you are waiting for someone and want to listen to the radio you don't have to leave the car running... Also it is part of the CA.

When you shut off the car, the car is mode between stand-by and ignition on. The windows still function, music continues to play. You can do either of the two things you mentioned.

dude it's normal behavior, don't sweat about it. y do u leave ur turn signal blinking after parking? since u have ca, after shutting the engine off it goes to accessories mode until u hit it a second time or lock the car. that way u can still hear ur music playing as u are getting out until u touch the grooves. super cool! i like it this way

I like this feature with C.A. When I shut the engine off, my music continues to play until I'm out of the car, and lock it. No more letting the engine run just to hear the rest of the song. Or you can simply do #1 above and press the button a 2nd time.
