POS wont regen

New DPF and pressure sensor. DPF is clogged and wont regen. - Why?
Getting codes 18442 18458 and 19712 which seem to be common with DPF probs but also never there was posted any solution.

Do you think a bucket of gas would be enough to set a (otherwise) perfect E92 on fire?

Have you tried requesting a regen via diagnostics (Ediabas/Rheingold)? Try running highway in 5th gear around 3k rpm to have good preconditions.

Was going to ask this too. Even BMWhat app (now known as Carly) can request a DPF regen as well.

Been there done that. With BMWhat and also with an excellent GUTMAN tester. Regen requests always end after a few minutes of driving with the yellow dpf lamp and *regeneration deactivated* on the tester. Today I've ordered both temp sensors. I'll keep you posted.

Yes you can now. It could be that it's because your using it on an implementation device. Android app is slightly better and has couple more functions from what I've read. I can't tell you specifically cause I never us.ed an apple one

Whats your mileage? I think they are only good for 200k.

Edit: Sorry missed the "new" part.

Good idea to replace the temp sensors. Have you checked the differential pressure sensor, too? Also check the lines for clogging or reverse connection?

I remember reading a long thread somewhere (perhaps other forum) where the UK guys were describing ways to jumpstart reluctant regens. They were using an additive and resetting SES while driving (often repeated immediate resets). If I get a chance I will try and find that and repost.

Mine won't work either. I run it on Android and I have the latest version. I would be curious to know if anyone else has been able to us Carly to kick off a regen. I should also add that I can reset service lights/intervals with the latest version.

Likewise. I can't access the DPF In App with Carly either. I use IOS with a generic wifi adapter.

Now new temp sensors are in. Test drove 3 times with Carly regen requests. DPF lamp as usually came on after every 10 minutes of driving. Gave up. Maybe there are hidden fault codes in the DDE that Carly cant detect. Regen seems to be still locked.

Do you have the fault code descriptions?

I've attached a pdf with information, but the best thing would to log a trace while driving. See the post about "INPA logging".

Just need the correct OBD cable and download the standalone version from member pheno.

You have a link? Google fails

Today I emptied a can of dpf cleaner into the temp sensor hole. Car immediatedly felt better after only 2minutes of driving. After 10 minutes most of the power was back. dpf light now was not coming on anymore. Erased codes, requested regen and now I have a torque monster back again.

Nice solution. I wonder if we can use the same trick to clean the SCR after the Alphabet delete.

Anyway, INPA logging thread with TestO is here:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...079838&page=14

Don't forget to donate a few dollars to pheno. The guy has been really helpful to us.
