Window Regulator Brands

Replacing my rear passenger window regulator and and debating which brand to buy given the spread in pricing and have some quality concerns. Below are some of the options I was considering:

1. ETC Tuning (Genuine BMW) http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E90-325...lator/ES95491/
2. Dorman (mixed reviews) http://www.amazon.com/Dorman-740-481...1&s=automotive
3. VDO http://www.amazon.com/VDO-WR40480-Se...1&s=automotive

Any thoughts on the above? Alternatively, if you have any suggestions on other brands or websites to use that would be great.

Thanks all!

I would suggest to beware of the 'lowest bidder' with parts. Once you spend the time to open the door, you may as well put a good one in. I bought a super cheapy no name regulator on ebay and it fit perfectly but it seemed cheap, sounds loud, and I'm betting it will not last long. It is a rear window which doesnt get used much so I am crossing my fingers to get a few seasons out of it.

When my regulators went out (yes, I've replaced two so far), I used the BMW part. I don't know if the other brands are worse, but I didn't want to risk it.

No, that seems like a different problem. The window regulator is simply the track/pulley system powered by the motor that pulls/pushes your window up and down. The regulator itself has no electric parts.

In my case, I was rolling up the window and heard a loud crack and my window would no longer move up (could hear the motor churning inside though). Once I opened up the door, it appeared that one of the cables on the window regulator had frayed causing it to get hung up in the motor and ultimately breaking the piece of plastic where the cable is anchored.

Ended up buying the Genuine BMW part off of eBay for ~$120 bucks as the ECS was going to take 2 weeks to get the part out to me. Got it installed just before the rain hit on Friday night.. whew..

Rear window problem-06 325

I have a problem with the right rear window. The window went down and it tries to go up but it doesn't. I took the panel off, and with a slight push, it works fine. I didn't see anything wrong with the cabling on the regulator, but I replaced the regulator and I had the same problem. I sprayed silicone on the track. I tried the reset with holding the switch up and down for 5-10 seconds, and it seemed to work okay. The next day, before I put the panel back on, I tried it and the window would not go up. With the motor disconnected from the regulator the motor works fine. Any ideas of how to fix it?
